The Choice is John Roberts

President Bush has just announced his nominee for the Supreme Court. The choice is Federal Appeals Court Judge, John Roberts.

Chucky Shumer has already raised objections to the Presidents choice. I expect to hear from Teddy momentarily.

The fight has begun.

DING DING. Round one.

(By the way. I got my news from Fox News. I don't trust the others. They might try to tell us that Bush's nominee is Earl Warren.)

By accounts I've heard, Roberts is a great choice.

I wish Warren was back - I owe him a punch in the face. Roberts seems the ideal choice. No consensus, Dems. So sad, too bad.

I don't know anything about Roberts. I just know Chuckie and Teddy and Durbin will fight him, just because Bush chose him. which is reason enough for me to support him.

I am serious, by the way. The so called mainstream media is out of control and I will not support them.

NRO is a great place to find out about Roberts, especially via the easy-to-read Corner blog. He seems like an absolutely fantastic choice, to your point. I'm thrilled, and I give credit to Bush for making the tough pick.

It will be interesting to see how the Gang of 14 compromise deal factors into this. I may end up eating my own criticism thereof; but I will do so happily.

Obviously most of us are unknowledgable about Justice Roberts (or anyone else who would have picked)

So we must go by what we hear:

Every Conservative I've heard says he is the "BEST POSSIBLE CHOICE".

The Liberals say he's a brilliant man, and a good man.........But they don't like his politics.

With this knowlegde, from both sides, I'm very happy, and must say President Bush has come through again...........Thank you!!!
