An open letter to Karl Rove

At a dinner for the New York state republicans on Wednesday, Karl Rove had this to say:
"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers,"

This has ignited a firestorm of indignation from the liberals similar to the firestorm ignited by Senator Dick Durbin's remarks about the Gitmo detainee camp in Cuba, but not as deserved.
Liberals are calling for an apology and I, for one, agree. With that in mind I have prepared an open letter for Mr. Rove. This is it:

Dear Mr. Karl Rove:
In light of the recent statements you made at the dinner for New York Republicans We, as concerned Americans feel that you owe an apology to the Liberals. Although the remarks are completely true, as evidenced by the very words of certain liberals soon after 9/11, in the interest of fostering good will among your peers, I have taken the liberty to prepare a statement for you. You may use it verbatim:

More than most people, a senator lives by his words, but occasionally words will fail us and occasionally we will fail words. Some may believe that my remarks crossed the line. To them, I extend my heartfelt apologies.

We believe if you apologize forthwith, the country can get back to the business at hand, and that is the continual distraction and stalling of governing the country.

sincerely,
Concerned Conservatives

I think that should appease the liberals. After all, It worked for Durbin!

But it's not true. The Republicans prepared for war but with the wrong country. The Democrats were prepared for war with the right country. Kucinich doesn't count, he is only one guy.

You almost got it right Garza.

The Dems have been preparing for war for a long time --> With America.

Actually, I suspect that the outrage expressed by the Democrats and Liberals over these comments to be nothing more than payback for the outrage Republicans and conservatives had expressed over Durbin's comments. I really think the liberals have been waiting silently in the wings for someone on the other side to say something they could attack. Just waiting and watching to pounce, as it were.

Well I personally am quite pleased Rove took the gloves off. How much mudslinging must we endure from the Liberals before SOMEONE does? Rove only spoke the truth. If the Libs had thier way Bin Laden would be under the care of a Psychiatrist for sure instead of running, hiding, and constantly looking over his shoulder and under his rock. I cant trust mine or my family's security to those who would perscribe Prozac to those who want to kill us ALL by any means necessary rather than chase them, hunt them down and kill them. Call me crazy but isnt that what our Commander-In-Chief said in the address to the Nation right after 9-11? There will be no where they can run, no-where they can hide, and ANYONE, yes Toad ANYONE who harbors, aids, and sponsors terrorists is just as guilty as the terrorists themselves. Which Saddam was one of those sponsors. Why is it so hard for those on the left to remember what our President said right after 9-11?

Uh, what's all this 'finally taking the gloves off' stuff about? Seems to me that if you make so much as a peep against these people who are steering us all into bankruptcy and far, far worse, there's an entire media apparatus waiting to call you a traitor.
No, I don't want an apology-I want the Bill of Rights back. And since I won't get that (when they take away your rights on a temporary, 'emergency' basis, you won't be getting them back), I'll take seeing Rove in federal prison for the lies he's told, sent there by the parents of those who died for his lies.
You people, I tellya. It must sting every December when Santa fails, yet again, to come around.

First of all, Rove said "liberals" not "democrats," second, he said "liberals" not "progressives." Why are the Dems so uptight about Rove's comments, unless they are admitting to being liberals, not progressives, or moderates, as they always call themselves?
