Yesterday, I was listening to Mark Simone(sp?), who was sitting in for radio host Sean Hannity while Hannity is on vacation, and he brought up the name of Tokyo Rose. Tokyo Rose is the name given to at least two, and possibly more female English speaking broadcasters of WWII, who broadcast propaganda for the Japanese for the purpose of demoralizing the American servicemen.
So I decided to do some research on her via the internet. What I found was mildly surprising. I had always thought Tokyo Rose was one woman, who worked for the Japanese, but what I learned was she was a fictional person cobbled together from scraps of real history. There's no proof that such a woman existed.
Mark Simone explained that the propaganda machine of the Japanese Empire invented her, and wrote the copy for whoever was Tokyo Rose at the time. He described the three main subjects that the Japanese used in their efforts to undermine the American war effort:
1. The American President lied to convince the people to support the war against Japan.
2. The Americans cannot win the war against Japan.
3. The reason American troops are fighting and dying is because of the big corporations and big war profits.
Sound familiar?
The Iraq war's Tokyo Rose goes by the names of Dean, Reid, Shumer, Biden, Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Murtha, Clinton... In short, many of the Democrats in Congress.
By referring to these topics when criticizing the President and the war in Iraq, I believe they are giving aid and comfort to the enemy, which, according to The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, is the definition of treason against the United States.
I admit, it is only considered treason if it is intended to give aid and comfort, and I don't really believe that those Senators and Congressmen are doing it purposely to commit treason.
But that leads me to question exactly why they are constantly repeating the 3 things that the Japanese had determined demoralized the troops most effectively.
Can it be mere politics?
Sadly, I think it is.

Ya, only people who profited from the war back then were then attacked by federal probes. Let’s not forget that the big 3 auto makers stopped making cars and converted their industrial might to the production of the war machine. In contrast, take a look at the stock prices for, Exxon, Halliburton, Conoco Phillips and Chevron before the war and after the war started.

For those who are to biased and afraid to see the truth I will tell you that as of September, Conoco Philips had a 180% increase in their stock price since before the war started and Halliburton saw a 247% increase in their stock price and that 99% of Halliburton’s political donations went towards Republican candidates.
Our president did lie and Roosevelt, though he didn't lie, it is speculated that he knew the attack on America was coming and let it happen because he knew the Americans would never support a war against Asians if we weren’t attacked first; SOUND FAMILIAR?
Americans, without the bomb, would not have been able to invade and occupy Japan, not in that decade anyways. And as it is looking now, for every militant terrorist we kill in Iraq we create one or two more so when you kill an enemy and he multiplies; that can be a tough war.
Toad, that is a crock of lies. Michael Moore has made more profit off this war than Halliburton. Do you attack him?
Why do you want so badly for the US to lose this war? Don't you know that the first Americans to be beheaded when the terrorists win will be the ones that turned against their own country? Do you really want to die that badly?
You better believe they are giving aid and comfort to the terrorists. They are giving UBL and Zarqawi exactly what the want, a war and unrest within the U.S. After all, it's been 4 years since a terrorist attack on U.S. soil so what else can they say?
Unfortunately, we have not had a formal declaration of war since WWII. All the rules change then. Liberal icon FDR ran the country with an iron fist. The press would not have DARED to pull the garbage they are pulling now. Treason is treason, whether it is done intentionally to harm this country or whether it is done stupidly to harm the President. Nancy Pelosi is the new Tokyo Rose and deserves the same fate.
Instead of Tokyo Rose, we have Baghdad Ho's......
It's too bad Bush didn't get a declaration of war, because then there would be a much more legit claim to sedition for these pukes.
Truthfully, I hope they keep it up.....Everyone I know in the military just tunes them out, and the American people in general look at them as a bunch of nuts.
