Yet Another Question

"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark." ~ William Shakespeare

Look at the above picture. Does anyone think Obama looks apprehensive? Worried? Uncertain? If you do, do you wonder why?

Here is another issue that has me puzzled:

Obama wants us all to believe he is the one responsible for getting bin Laden.

At first, the story was Osama resisted and was armed.

Then, the story was changed. Now, we are supposed to believe Osama was unarmed. For the record, I've never seen a picture of bin Laden that didn't show him either holding a gun or where a gun was not within his reach. (Well, at least, none other than a close up, such as the one I posted in an earlier post) With all the noise and commotion on the lower floors of his compound, why would Osama have been unarmed?

If it's true that he was unarmed when he was shot, then his death is murder.

If it's true that Obama was really calling the shots, that makes Obama a murderer.

Does he still want to take the credit for killing Osama bin Laden?

Why would he want to admit any complicity in the murder of an unarmed man?

What possible reason would he have to put his presidency at risk (which is something completely un-Obama-like) over something that could have been so easily avoided? All he would have had to do was stick to the original story. What was the point of changing it?

Without a doubt, this was a state-sanctioned execution. A violation of international law. But, since when is Obama concerned about the law?

FDR wasn't concerned about the law when he threw 110,000 Japanese Americans into detention camps.

The Kennedys weren't worried about the law when they wiretapped MLK Jr.

Teddy wasn't worried about the law when he left a woman to die at the bottom of a tidal pool.

LBJ wasn't worried about the law when he lied to drag us into Vietnam.

Clinton wasn't worried about the law when he slaughtered the Branch Davidians at Waco.

For all their talk about human rights and the law, leftists are simply the most most murderous people on the planet.

Killing Osama wasn't murder any more than using an electric chair is murder. It was an execution of a mass murderer, and it was NOT a violation of real international law.

Panetta said they were watching nothing... they lost the video feed for some twenty minutes. Hillary said she was coughing. No telling what Barry was doing. And yet, why should we believe Panetta? No one studies a television screen that intensely with no images.

Perhaps they had audio; who knows. But someone's lying about something they don't want us to know.

The thing that strikes me about that photograph is that of all the people in the room, Obama looks like the pizza delivery guy who just sat down for a minute while somebody is getting his tip...

Mark, killing an unarmed person is not always murder, by definition. Obama, I mean Osama was an international OUTLAW -- Wanted Dead of Alive. Outlaws give up their legal civil rights when they commit crimes that are so heinous that society deems it necessary that they be eradicated by any method, just like a common insect pest.

Bonnie and Clyde were declared outlaws when they went on their killing spree, which is why the cops blew them away with such overwhelming fire power in an ambush. The fact that they were armed, didn't enter into it.

Mark,

I can't read that expression on Obama's face. But it seems to say, "Bummer. This is happening too far in advance of November 2012.

Glenn, since when does international law allow for the execution of anyone without a trial?

I think Obama is watching that raid and thinking, "Wow, just like NCIS!"

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Real international law I don't think exists except as all of us having a moral standard. The UN law is biased agains democracies. As for having no trial - Osama's trial has been on-going. As with other murderers, we don't always get them to trial - they get shot while doing their dastardly deeds.

I think Obama looks very uncomfortable all scrunched down in his chair like that. He looks like someone sat him down in that chair and told him not to move or he'd have to sit in the corner.

Like he'd rather be anywhere else but there. I imagine him thinking, "I'd rather be on the links or playing basketball right now."

At any rate, he looks like anything but the president of the most powerful nation in the world.

It is a picture of incompetence.

I think that element is in his body language -- along with what I said in my earlier comment.

Panetta gave the order to kill Osama (or so we're told). That is an extra-judicial killing. Panetta set himself up as judge, jury and executioner.

I can understand why it was done, and I approve. But there is NO excuse for violating the law. If you don't trust international law, then it was also in violation of U.S. law. President Gerald Ford issued the first executive order that prohibited political assassination. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan issued his own Executive Order 12333, which reads: “No person employed by or acting on behalf of the United States government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, assassination.”

So some of you are saying apparently that if George W. Bush hadn't given up on the hunt for Bin Laden and had directed a mission which killed him, you would not have been yelling "yippee ki-yay, motherf**ker"?

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Well, it wasn't a political assassination. It was the same as shooting a military commander. It was a wartime execution, which is certainly legal. The man controlled and irregular army and ordered para-military operations.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

And perhaps the idea was to take him captive? He wasn't armed, but had two weapons within immediate reach:

"The information helps clarify the conflicting details about what exactly happened toward the end of the 40-minute raid on bin Laden's northern Pakistan compound. Sources who were part of the mission said bin Laden acted in a "cowardly manner" when confronted. Fox News has also learned that while bin Laden was unarmed, he was standing near the door within reach of two weapons -- an AK-47 and a Makarov handgun that are now in U.S. custody. The handgun is a 9mm semi-automatic Russian pistol, standard issue in the Russian military until 1991."

I agree with you Glenn-battlefield mission.

And if you can't believe Fox News, who can you believe. :-) Just sayin'.

I think the fact that people are divided on whether this was a case of murder or not, whether it is legal or illegal, should, in itself be enough to make Obama wonder if he made the right move in this, and whether it will negatively affect his bid for re-election.

Jim said...

"should, in itself be enough to make Obama wonder if he made the right move in this"

Why on earth? I'm sure he has no second thoughts or regrets. I'm sure he doesn't have one second of concern about this supposed "controversy". No reason on earth that he should.

You REALLY think that the manner or legality of OBL's elimination will have any impact whatsoever on Obama's prospects of a 2012 re-election? In what world?

Lone Ranger said...

Nope, nobody believes this will affect Obama's chances. Liberals have only two political positions -- blind hatred and blind devotion. Nothing Obama does will change their mind.

Jim said...

"Liberals have only two political positions"

Clearly false. And it takes more than liberals to win the presidency.

Trader Rick said...

"Liberals have only two political positions -- blind hatred and blind devotion."

Clearly true. The key concept here is "blind".

If you can't get away with it at Art's blog, Parkie, you surely can't get away with it here. He's more patient than I am. Give it up.
