Too Important Not To Try

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." ~ Edmund Burke

I can't let this go. This election is too important. Lone Ranger asks how much damage can one man do it two years?

I don't want to find out.

If Obama has the added benefit of a filibuster proof Congress, who knows what damage he is capable of in two years?

This morning I sent Poison Pero's (From the Right is Right blog) "15 reasons to vote for McCain" to my mother, my 5 siblings, and my kids who have e-mail.

I believe all but one are Democrats. I know I risk creating hard feelings with my family, but I feel this election is too important not to take the risk.

To my Conservative friends: If you haven't yet, please take the time to e-mail all your family members and friends and tell them to vote for McCain, or at least, against Obama on Tuesday.

To my Liberal friends: They moved election day back one day. Election day is Wednesday, November 5th, this year.

Update: My brother, who is a minister, sent a couple of e-mails to me regarding the election. I posted them, since they are semi-religious, on my other blog, God's Way/My Way.

What was it like, do you think, to vote against George Washington? There must of been a few hundred.

To vote against Abraham Lincoln? Now that was very close. A lot of people were scared of him and worried about his inexperience.

To vote against FDR when the country was falling apart?

How do you think those people felt?

You can let me know in two years.

Feo, Certainly there are people who vote against good candidates. I suppose they felt much as I did when the Republicans lost so many seats in the last election. So what? What's your point?

That second comment was off topic and unnecessary. If you want to post silly, unimportant, irrelevant stuff like that, create your own blog. It is very easy. Just go to www.blogger.com and do it.

By the way, I will admit it is a fairly interesting news story, but irrelevant to this topic. And why would I care what some British people do in their own town? They are entitled to their own opinions, They are also entitled, just as you are, to be stupid.

Losing an election is one thing.

My point is that being on the wrong side of history ought to make the thinking person think.

I agree. Therefore, be sure you cast your vote for McCain.

I am the reverse of you, my blood family are all Republicans in Texas but I turned out to be a liberal Yankee.

The whole side of my in-laws are ex-military people who will voting for Obama in New Jersey.

And, given, that I am on hiatus, its been a great time for me to volunteer for the Obama campaign.

The pride one gets for being on the good side of the question is pretty seductive.

Don't worry Mark.

The election of Barrack Obama won't mark the end of the Republic. In fact a marked improvement for the middle class and America in general is in store. Despite the increasingly desperate GOP attempts to obfuscate, mislead and misrepresent the facts speak for themselves. The GOP have very nearly bankrupted the nation economically, diplomatically,
and politically. By any measure you care to chose the country is in worse shape now than it was eight years ago.

But we as we survived eight years of GWB we can survive anything.

Relax. Most of your family is right on this one.

You should take heed.

Cheers!

The damage could be such that any recovery for America as we know it would take years.

My closest cousin -- we are like sisters -- is voting for Obama and refuses to hear anything negative about him. In other words, she's drunk the Kool-aid, diabetic though she is. She actually believes that Obama is going to save the American economy and doesn't care if wealth redistribution means Marxism in play in American policy.

It would be interesting, at this late hour, to know just how anyone thinks Barry Obumble's economic plans (snicker) are going to help the middle class. He will indeed raise everyone's taxes. With all the programs he has in mind, reducing taxes for 95% of the people (yeah, right), from where is the money to come? How low must that definition of wealth fall before he can tax enough "wealthy" people? 100K? 95K?

What's he gonna do, cut the military? It's one of the few things the federal government is Constitutionally mandated to do. Pull the troops from Iraq? If he is so worried about world opinion, how good will it get if Iraq devolves into chaos after our withdrawal? But don't worry, he claims he's gonna keep some of our guys there for awhile. I'm sure they'll be perfectly safe. But then he says Afghanistan is where we should have been all along, so how much can he cut the military if we're still fighting in another country?

You realize, of course, that ol' Barry was totally against Bush's tax cuts, don't you? Well they expire in 2010. What then? If he doesn't renew the cuts, the taxes will be raised back to what they were before Bush cut them. Did you get that? Letting Bush's cuts expire amounts to a tax increase. On everyone who got a cut! And along with those cuts, more people were allowed to work tax free. That's right! In order to avoid the accusations of heartlessness toward the needy, fewer people were made to pay taxes and now, letting the cuts expire, everything is reset to what it was before the cuts and more struggling people will have to pay taxes again.

Then there's the capital gains taxes. He'll raise 'em because, damn, that would only help the wealthy. But that will likely screw up everyone's retirement portfolios and IRAs as well as cause job losses. This is the only logical result and it brings up a question that has never been answered for me: How does taking away more profits from corporations, in the form of higher taxes, help them thrive? Do you believe they'll take it and not make the consumer pay? Or maybe they'll pack up and leave. Barry O whines about the Republicans giving tax breaks to companies that move jobs overseas. Boo hoo! Maybe they were on their way out of town anyway due to rising costs and the tax cuts were incentives to make them stay. The tax burden on corporations is already one of the highest in the industrialized world. Barry wants to soak them more.

All this has just been his economic stuff. It's not even complete. Put that together with what he wants to do with the money, and then review his stupidity regarding illegal immigration, foreign policy (he really has none), his support for abortion anytime, anywhere, for any reason, by anyone, up to and including right after the child is born, and other insanities and what you have at the end of the day is the worst freakin' choice for president to ever have a shot at winning. That's to say nothing about what it makes his supporters.

Mark: Those links were SO good. I wish eveyone in the US was required to see them BEFORE voting tomorrow.

Thank you.

Keep the faith and let's get this job done right.

'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

' On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi'
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

The 'right' side of history depends on where you're standing when you're looking at it.

The view of the folks who love America, America's roll in World History of Bringing Freedom to millions on the globe for centuries, Democracy and Individual Liberty, Equality of opportunity, and Christianity is so different from those who

Hate America, are radical rascist bigots, love Marxism and Totalitarianism, fight against Individual liberty and want to see the destruction of Judaism and Chistianity.

Seems like feodor and his ilk have chosen, and badly...
