Orwell's Children

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." ~ Voltaire

"Jonestown ended in mass suicide, but the real horror was that ordinary people, Americans like you and I, had become so decoupled from reality and morality that they could be led to surrender everything, even their lives, intoxicated only with the venom of modern Leftism. These were Orwell's Children."

Thanks for the link to the American Thinker, post, Mark. That's an excellent article and I hope people read it who actually need to read it, but do they really read anything?

I have my doubts.

"Soviets denied that honesty, per se, mattered."

This is chilling, because in today's Democrat Party, as well as in the RINO squad, things become "true" because they are uttered, not because they actually are.

Unless there is a right revolt, we are in for despotic times.

Now THAT is a scary quote.

Mark, the truth spelled out in that article is absolutely right on, and we are witnessing 1984 coming to fruition right now.

I find it frightening to watch how ordinarily sane people react to the mere mention of Obama's name. One would think that when talking about Obama, they were talking about God himself.

"Political Correctness", "All Inclusiveness", and "Toleration", has really done its job thanks to our public education system, and our news and entertainment media.

Only God can save the few of us who haven't had our thinking processes and spiritual compasses corrupted by the society we are living in, and we can only pray for the "lost" and hope that our children and grandchildren are not among them.

The stunning thing is that the very people who strive to destroy the American way of life, don't believe that Stalinism can gain a foothold in this country.

In our declining civilization, it is fitting that people like Obama preside over it's final death throes...

Oh woe is us...

I think you'll all be around in eight years.

Complaining and feeling put upon no doubt but still around.

Happy Thanksgiving! (I understand Thanksgiving & Christmas 2009 will be cancelled.)

Cheers!

It seems to me what happened on Black Friday at that Wal Mart store where that poor man was trampled to death is pretty indicative that Americans are becoming like mindless robots.

Thanks for the link.

There are many like us that realize and see what is happening. But as Father Gregori pointed out, the way Obama supporters swoon over the President Elect is reminiscent of the Jonestown mentality. Even with Reagan, the greatest president of my lifetime, I never felt the urge to bow down and worship him as some Obama supporters obviously do about their man.
