The Dogs Are Out

"The history of our race, and each individual's experience, are sown thick with evidence that a truth is not hard to kill and that a lie told well is immortal." ~ Mark Twain

The Democrat attack machine, otherwise known as the National Media, have begun their attack on another Republican Presidential candidate. This time, it's Herman Cain.

It was, of course, inevitable.

Anytime a Republican hopeful begins to pull away from the pack, the attack machine goes into full attack mode.

In my humble opinion, it is simply more evidence that the Democrats have so little faith in their own candidates ability to win an election on their own merits that they have to resort to shameful, underhanded, despicable tactics.

I might add, also, that this is the way Obama got his opponent to drop out of the campaign when he was running for Illinois State Senate. By attacking the man's moral character.

I knew this would happen.

As Cain's spokesman said, so far, these allegations are "thinly sourced", however, Cain and his campaign are not denying that charges of sexual harassment were brought against him.

On page three of the Politico report, some insight into the details of the allegations is mentioned. One of the women who made these as yet unsubstantiated allegations was fired shortly before she made the accusation, which, simply because of that fact, makes her allegation extremely suspect.

It is important for us to remember that Herman Cain was never officially charged with any kind of sexual harassment, and that all the Democrat attack machine has to back up their allegation is the word of two possibly bitter, vindictive, former employees of the National Restaurant Association.

It is basic human nature to wish for retribution against bosses who terminate employees. I myself have been fired a few times, and I can remember entertaining thoughts of revenge against my former employer. It is, therefore, no leap of logic to reach the conclusion that sour grapes may have motivated these women to make these charges, if indeed, charges were even brought.

As a Manager, I was once accused of sexual discrimination by a disgruntled former employee, an allegation that was ultimately proven false.

I know how vindictive some people can be firsthand.

One has to read all the way to page four to see any support being voiced for Cain by people who worked with him.

I don't know if these allegations have any merit to them or not. It's still early. We will have the opportunity to observe follow up stories in the next several weeks, and I'm sure more facts will eventually emerge.

Will they vindicate or destroy Herman Cain?

Who knows?

But I will tell you one thing:

True or not, his candidacy has been irreparably damaged.

Update:

Herman Cain responds. I like the way he answers direct questions directly. Politicians would do well to emulate his style.

Back in the early 1980s we had a trainee who couldn't separate two flies with a screen door, and in ATC that is dangerous. He was given every chance in the world to get his act together but just couldn't cut it. So his training was terminated and he was let go.

The next week we had a charge against us for discrimination; he claimed he as "gay" and that's why we fired him. If he was "gay," no one would have guessed it and he never said a thing about it, so there is no way anyone would know. He lost his case, but it goes to show how people are when they get fired.

I just wonder why a single suggestion of misbehavior can derail a candidate on the GOP side of things, but a dope smoking, cocaine snorting, real estate cheat like Obama comes off as clean and pure as the wind driven snow?

How exactly does that work, anyway?

Fredd...that list could have been a LOT longer on Obama; I admire your restraint.

My question is this: With a media only curious enough to slam Conservatives and not get at the truth of their own, they've got plenty of time to annihilate any Republican candidate; why would ANYBODY run if there was a shred of truth in these allegations?

Already, CNN's gals are talking about how the women who were paid off can't comment on the allegations because they got money.(in other words, even if you believe Cain, there's STILL that shadow of a doubt!)
Wait till the money the media will offer the accusers is bigger than the measly $10K they apparently got and see how quickly they make up really good stories, write a book, get rich, pose for Playboy, and salute Obama, who they helped get elected.

We probably won't ever know who leaked it.

If it comes out, I bet every single one of you punks 5 grand it was Perry.

When are you people going to wise up?

Yes, I could have gone on about the list of scandals as long as my arm that have been ignored by ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, the Chicago Trib, the LA Times, the Washington Post, blah blah blah about our current POTUS. On and on, actually....

The tragedy is that the fabulous 9-9-9 plan is in jeopardy now that we know Herman's a perv.

Hey Herman, buh bye

Ducky, I bet you defended Bill Clinton, didn't you? Don't bother to answer. You're an idiot. Go away. You have worn out your welcome.

Mark I can't understand why you are defending democrats with this sort of faint praise.Have they paid you off? Their modus operandi (Yes I can talk frenchy french) is to buy votes, vote dead people and employ slander and deception at every turn.

Daffy is right about one thing. He IS a punk. Ban him. At least your resident troll, the Anonymous "jim" TRIES to make coherent arguments.

The only way liberals can raise themselves up is by tearing others down. Combine that with the fact that the democrats are the party of racism, and you have the perfect storm of indefensible behavior.

modus operandi is French, huh?

""jim" TRIES to make coherent arguments."

I'm flattered.

Hey, did it occur to you guys that Cain is leading 7 other REPUBLICAN candidates? Do you think none of them is doing oppo research?

Mark said...

Jim got you, Rick. "Modus Operandi" is Latin.

The possibility that one of the other Republican candidates is behind these allegations is unlikely, considering these attempts at smearing Cain come directly out of the Democrat's playbook.

Exactly the same way the word "disenfrancise" comes directly out of the Democrat talking points memo.

What a load of horse manure!

If you want smear playbook, look no further than White Water, filegate, Vince Foster and a host of other unproved smears.

Exactly the same way the word "disenfrancise" comes directly out of the Democrat talking points memo.

Your are losing badly on that one, Mark.

NOBODY "got" me Mark. You guys can't take a joke. I took two years of Latin in High School. And when I went to high school, it was not a "dead" language. It was still spoken fluently outside of the church in Italy and parts of France and Spain...One of the few perks of being incredibly old, I guess.

BTW a LOT of French and English words have Latin roots, considering they were both Roman Colonies, and All Gual is divided into three parts...just so you know.

Sorry, Rick, didn't know you were joking.
