It's Time To Come Clean, Barack

"This is the job for today's radical — to fan the embers of hopelessness into a flame to fight. To say, '. . . let us change it together!" ~ Saul D. Alinsky

When I was a young man, the body of a man named Robert Frownfelter was found at an abandoned cement plant on the fringe of the neighborhood I lived in. He had been shot once-point blank-in the back of the head with a .22, and his pockets had been rifled through. His empty wallet was found on his body.

I was about eighteen or nineteen, and I had a friend who was about sixteen. I barely knew him before he and I started "hanging out" together.

A day after Mr. Frownfelter's body was found, I was sitting in my friends living room talking with him. Jokingly, I asked him, "Did you have anything to do with the murder of that Frownfelter guy?" His reply shocked me. He said, "I'm one of the suspects, but I didn't do it."

As it turned out, not only had my friend been a suspect, he was arrested for the murder, tried as an adult, found guilty by a jury of his peers, and convicted of murder.

When asked why he did it, my friend (no, not "friend"--my acquaintance) explained that he needed money, so he hitched a ride with Mr. Frownfelter, a man he did not know, pulled a gun, and ordered him to stop the car and get out. then he forced him to walk onto the cement company grounds and shot him, without warning, in the back of the head.

He got eight cents.

Now, I knew my new friend was a little bit crazy, but I didn't think he was that crazy. Nevertheless, I never saw him again. I would no longer associate with him.

Now, contrast that story with the story of Barack Hussein Obama's association with William Ayres, admitted and unrepentant domestic terrorist.

I found this video at, of all places, CNN, affectionately known to many Conservatives, as "The Communist News Network":

And then, from Fox news, Obama staffer Robert Gibbs gets caught lying about Obama's association with William Ayres:

Well, upon publishing this post, I find (curiously) the video has been removed. This has never happened to me before. Is it possible that Obama's reach even extends to censoring damaging videos about him on youtube?

The video which has been removed features an interview with Robert Gibbs, an Obama staffer and spokesman. Here is a partial transcript, which I have had to type out as I listen to the audio:

Deucy: Obama didn't know the history of this William Ayres guy, that right?

Gibbs: That's correct.

Deucy: How is that possible? Barack Obama's a pretty smart guy, and this guy was pretty famous in the neighborhood.

Gibbs: Uh, Well..uh...look, I haven't talked to Barack extensively...

Carlson: Bobby, Let me ask you this, because as time goes on, there seems to be more ties between Barack Obama and Bill Ayres, for example, he wrote the forward, or a blurb at least, for Bill Ayres' book! If you don't know somebody very well, would you participate in their book?

Gibbs: Uh, uh, Look, uh...uh, I don't know all the details, I know what I read in the newspaper, and I know what I read throughout any number of publications that I've looked at this weekend...(end transcript)

Gibbs went on to say Obama "never wrote a blurb" on Ayres' book. He was even given a chance to retract that remark by Gretchen Carlson. She said, "He didn't?"

Gibbs replied, "No, he didn't".

Really. Here is what Obama wrote in the Chicago Tribune on December 21, 1997:

On William Ayers' (book) "A Kind And Just Parent: The Children Of Juvenile Court": "A searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair." ~ Barack Obama

During The Time Obama And Ayers Served Together On The Woods Fund, Ayers Was Quoted Saying "I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we didn't do enough." (Dinitia Smith, "No Regrets For A Love Of Explosives," The New York Times, 9/11/01)

It isn't just the fact that he and Obama are friends. It's that Ayres readily admits he would do it all again if he feels it's necessary.

The New York Slimes gleefully reported that Ayres admits to being a Communist. Ayres organization, The Weather Underground, Produced A Manual Which Begins, "We Are A Guerrilla Organization. We Are Communist Women And Men, Underground In The United States For More Than Four Years." "The coalition was said to be a violence-prone faction inspired by the Weather Underground's ''Prairie Fire,'' a guerrilla warfare manual published in 1974. The manual begins, 'We are a guerrilla organization. We are Communist women and men, underground in the United States for more than four years.'" (Paul L. Montgomery, "2 Women In Brink's Case Identified With Weathermen From Start In '69," The New York Times, 10/ 22/81)

Maybe I'm just naive, but if I knew an acquaintance was an unrepentant domestic terrorist, I'd steer clear of any resemblance of an association with him regardless of how remote it might be.

Even if I don't have plans to run for a political office.

I think before the American people cast their votes this election, Obama needs to answer some questions. And, I think he needs to tell the truth this time.

Questions, such as:

Knowing what Obama knew about his friend, why did he accept the job of chairing Ayres' brainchild, The Annenburg Challenge?

Why did he attend his political coming out party at Ayres' home?

Why did he give speeches with Ayres?

What did Ayres see in Obama that would have prompted him to solicit Obama's friendship?

What did Obama see in Ayres that would prompt him to accept a friendship with him?

What do the two have in common?

Could it be Ayres saw in Obama what Obama saw in Saul Alinsky, a radical Marxist author who wrote a book entitled "Rules for Radicals"?

This like-mindedness between the two "community Organizers" (Ayres and Obama) should send up a red flag, or at least a yellow one. One must ask oneself, "to what extent will the philosophy of Saul Alinsky and William Ayres influence how Obama will preside over the greatest country on Earth?"

Before we send "that one" to the oval office, we must get the facts about Obama's many nefarious relationships. The real facts.

To straighten out an unclear point, Mark...

Here's Ayers' own words about saying he "didn't do enough:"

Regrets. I’m often quoted saying that I have “no regrets.” This is not true. For anyone paying attention—and I try to stay wide-awake to the world around me all/ways—life brings misgivings, doubts, uncertainty, loss, regret. I’m sometimes asked if I regret anything I did to oppose the war in Viet Nam, and I say “no, I don’t regret anything I did to try to stop the slaughter of millions of human beings by my own government.” Sometimes I add, “I don’t think I did enough.” This is then elided: he has no regrets for setting bombs and thinks there should be more bombings.

The illegal, murderous, imperial war against Viet Nam was a catastrophe for the Vietnamese, a disaster for Americans, and a world tragedy. Many of us understood this, and many tried to stop the war. Those of us who tried recognize that our efforts were inadequate: the war dragged on for a decade, thousands were slaughtered every week, and we couldn’t stop it. In the end the U.S. military was defeated and the war ended, but we surely didn’t do enough.

While not entirely clear, it sounds like to me that he does regret the bombings of buildings - that this approach was a failed approach to stopping a bad war. He wishes he had done more/been more effective at stopping the war. That does not appear to translate into, "I wish I had done more bombings or more been more deadly than I was."

Now, as I have said repeatedly, I think he was wrong to choose terroristic methods to try to stop a bad war. He engaged in the same kind of behavior as what he was trying to stop (only he didn't go so far as to actually kill people).

But let's stick to what people actually say and intend, rather than putting words in their mouth beyond what they mean.

Hi Mark,
No, Obama will never come clean. He has too much to hide, and that would be completely against his liberal, radical nature. he finds nothing wrong in dealing with terrorists, because his heart is filled with terrorist ideology. So coming clean is not an option, for it would require that he repudiate all his beliefs.

Mark said...

Oh, Dan, then that makes it alright. Is that what you're saying? Do you also know that when Obama and Ayres were serving together on the Woods Foundatiuon board, Ayres was photographed stomping on a United States flag? Is that considered anti-American in your book?

He hates America. He has proven that through his actions and his statements. Am I saying Obama is guilty by association?

You bet your sweet ass, I am. And I will never apologize for speaking this truth.

Mark said...

Dan, you mighgt want to go back and read the post again. Obviously you didn't watch the videos provided. If you had, you would have no doubt pointed out the second one is no longer available. Since you posted your comment before I updated, you need to read the post again, and this time. watch the video.

Refuting a post without taking the time to actually read the post or watch the accompaning videos tells us ypur mind is already made up,a nd doesn't say much for your supposedly open mind.

As to whether my mind is open: It isn't. I don't need any to hear anymore Liberal talking points to tell me Ayers is a terrorist. He is Timothy McVeigh.

Gayle said...

You're absolutely right, Mark. Ayers is indeed Timothy McVeigh, and I've done enough research on Obamination to know what his association with Ayers is, and ACORN as well. Ayer's clearly said on 9/11"I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough." He can lie about it all he wants, but those are his exact words verbatim, and there's no way he can get away from it. Nor can Obama - try as he might and lie as he might - get away from his association with the SOB!

I do not understand those who would call themselves Americans and still stick up for Obama, having the certain knowledge that he is the most liberal senator in the senate, will make government a lot larger, raise taxes on small business, and in effect destroy our economy and our national defense. Are liberals still for America? It doesn't seem so, does it?

Mark said...

Dan, where did you get that quote? Can you verify those are his exact words? Yes or no?

He may have made that quote in that interview, but he has been quoted "I don't regret setting those BOMBS" elsewhere.

Dan Trabue said...

The quote, Mark, is from his blog, as far as I can tell:

And Miss Gayle, I and my fellow church members and friends and co-workers and Sunday School teachers and volunteers and parents and teachers and social workers and mental health worker friends - all of whom you'd "liberal," to a person, we ALL love our homeland. We are thankful that we live in a nation with such grand ideals. We love our liberty, our opportunities, our communities, our families, our churches and our friends that we find within this great country.

But just because we don't think the US is 100% perfect (which, of course, no one thinks, not even you or Mark) does not mean that we don't love it. If you love a place, you're going to work to help that place live up to its ideals. That's all we're doing.

You may disagree with the way we do it or how we express it and that's okay (thankfully, in this country, dissent and disagreement is legal and even accepted as a good thing). We disagree with you.

But disagreement does not equal hatred. Or at least it shouldn't.

I'll have to admit that the more I see some express their disagreement violently - whether it's Ayers and his bombing of buildings but not people or McVeigh and his bombing of people in a building or it's those who are beginning to suggest that they may "need" to take up arms if Obama is elected - the more I wonder if we can't still disagree agreeably.

Mark said...

"The quote, Mark, is from his blog, as far as I can tell:"

His blog? Well, why didn't you say so? I guess I'll have to retract the statement that he is unrepentant then!

After all, a man who would bomb the Capitol and the White House and the new York Police Station etc, wouldn't stoop to lying, would he?

Please, stop, Dan, my sides are hurting.

Mark said...

No Dan, America is not perfect. We still have Liberals.

BB-Idaho said...

"America is not perfect. We still have Liberals." I hope that is humor! suggesting concentration camps or sumpin?

Mark said...

Yes, BB it's humor, but you might have the germ of a good idea there. Wish I'd thought of it.

Can you imagine the absolute hysteria from the left if McCain so much as shook the hand of someone who had bombed abortion clinics in the 70s?

With all this talk about Obama's radical associations, I'm wondering if he has had any NORMAL associations. Has he ever been a Boy Scout leader? Has he ever coached a youth basketball team? Has he ever been a member of the Elks or any other charitable or fraternal organization? And, has Michelle ever been a member of the PTA? Has she ever been a Girl Scout leader? Has she ever hosted or gone to a Tupperware party? Do the Obama's have ANY connection WHATSOEVER with mainstream America???

Mark: I have just discovered your blog, and love it.

I actually got here through Google as I was looking for anybody who remembered, "It All Started with Columbus," one of my favorite all-time "history" books.

What a great expose of BO and his refusal to come clean about his affiliations.

Mark said...

Joe, welcome and thank you for the kind words. Yes, I found a copy of "It all started with Columbus" on and ordered it, as I had long since lost my original copy.I don't know where it is at the moment, but I'm sure it's around here somewhere. (This place looks like it weathered Hurricane Katrina.)

At any rate, I hope you stop and visit more often.

The left is all about censoring dissemination of the facts. The left believes that freedom of speech should be limited to their point of view.

Great post. Obama is a compulsive serial liar. This is the story that should be getting splashed all over the country, but I guess it's more fun, and ideologically correct to publish stories about Palin's shortcomings.
Linking to you.

Dan Trabue has given us a very clear and fascinating insight in to how liberal non-logic/fantasy/ brainwashing works.

He reads: "I don't regret ANYTHING I did" and INTERPRETS it to mean "he does not regret bombing".

Whew! I guess words don't have meanings anymore.

In Dan's quote of Ayers, Ayers mentions that his words are 'elided' to say "he has no regrets for bombing" (WHICH IS WHAT HE SAID) but in Dan's quote does not say this is incorrect.

I don't know how old Dan is or what history books he has read if any, but to say "the U.S. military was defeated" in Viet Nam is again to display a fundamental lack of knowledge of what happened (or to believe some bizarre revisionist viewpoint), no matter how much he may wish it to be true.

Dan's credibility is destroyed by his own words.
Who has corrupted this young man's world view into a hatred of America so intense as to believe terrorists like Ayers that the War in Viet Nam was illegal, murderous or that we slaughtered thousands every week.

Whoever or whatever has destroyed this young man should be condemned to the darkest nether regions or sent back there. Imagine what good he might have done with his life-- God Bless his Soul.

AOW and Aurora. Welcome to my humble blog. I'm just looking to hopefully get the word out. While an Obama Presidency will probably be pretty much ineffectual, as most Americans will not let him convert the country to Communism without a fight, I don't think we can take the chance. After all, a lot of damage can be done in 4 years.

We need to let people know how dangerous "that One" could be, and I appreciate you both linking to this blog and spreading the word.

"After all, a lot of damage can be done in 4 years."

ROFLMAO at the irony here.

We certainly can see the proof of that!

Mark said...

Yes, we can, but hopefully, Republican can retake the majority in the Congress and stymie Obama's plans of Socializing America. That is, if Obama wins.McCain still has a chance, in spite of all the illegal and immoral ethical violations by his supporters.

"in spite of all the illegal and immoral ethical violations by his supporters."

you have no proof of that. it's also hilariously ironic that you assert all these conspiracy theories after poo-pooing the hard evidence of republican-perpetrated election fraud in ohio and elsewhere in previous election cycles.

Pasadena Closet Conservative said...

It does not fit into the mainstream media's agenda to provide Americans with the real facts. Sickening.

Marshall Art said...

What hard evidence?

Mark said...

OK, Anonymous. I put up with your screeds in the interest of fairness, but that last one was so crazy, stupid, and so far beyond the pale of logic I couldn't, in good conscience, publish it.

The idea that a Liberral pro-Obama organization that is perpertrating voter fraud nationwide doesn't help Obama is plainly ludicrous. What are you smoking?

Mark said...

Wait a minute.

Anon, you say, "in spite of all the illegal and immoral ethical violations by his supporters."

you have no proof of that. it's also hilariously ironic that you assert all these conspiracy theories after poo-pooing the hard evidence of republican-perpetrated election fraud in ohio and elsewhere in previous election cycles.

NO proof of that? Do you even read the newspapers, watch TV news, or listen to radio news? ANY NEWS? AT ALL???

I don't have space or time to go throught the list, but how about the fact that Indianapolis has 5,000 more registered voters than it has citizens? What about the fact that ACORN is being indicted, investigated, and arrested in states all over the country? What about the homeless people in Chicago that are being registered to vote, some as many as 70 times? Republicans don't mkae this stuff up. It is being reported even by Liberal news organizations, like MSNBC who are undoubtably in the tank for Obama.

Add to that the fact that as we all know, 95% of African Americans are supporting Obama mostly because of his color. ACORN is not soliciting white people to register. Only Blacks. It doesn't take the head checker at Walmart to figure out who ACORN is helping. Especially since Obama himself worked for ACORN and trained ACORN rabble rousers and activists in how to perpertrate voter fraud.

Are you seriously trying to tell us there is NO PROOF of all this?

And hard evidence of Republican voter fraud? Are you insane? All I have to say, if there is any "hard evidence" of Republican voter fraud, you seem to be the only one who is aware of any. Put your money where your mouth is or shut up.

I apologize to you, Anon. I should have rejected that comment as well as the following one. Or don't you realize I reject STUPID comments?

Coming up: Hard evidence of ACORN voter fraud.

Anonymous said...

"Or don't you realize I reject STUPID comments?"

all evidence to the contrary.
