Murtha Loses

"Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself." ~ Mark Twain

Well, now that Jack Murtha didn't get chosen to be 2nd in line to San Fran Nan, maybe he will go ahead and take the $50,000.00 from the FBI.

Or maybe he can get a loan from his brother, the Defense Contractor. After all, Murtha arranged for him to get the defense contracts in the first place.

He owes him.

Allow me to say that this is good news. But then, when choosing between two weasils, it is alway good to choose the lesser of two weasils.

I was rooting for Murtha. Would have been grand seeing his insanity & corruption play out over the next two years in the public limelight.

Couple things:

1. The $50,000 is nothing compared to the money he's gotten in earmarks for his family (brother in particular).

2. Hoyer is much more Liberal than Murtha on every issue except the War..... I would have rather had Murtha on 99% of the issues, but if we are going to be stuck with an uber-Lib it may as well be one who's been fighting Pelosi for 40-years.

Good to have ya back Mark.

Liberals call Bush a moron. So, I have the right to call Pelosi a genius -- an evil genius. I don't think Pelosi thought Murtha would win. She backed him just to pay off a political debt. Now, it's paid off and she's rid of him.

Murtha is extremely pro-life.

Holy crap. Lone Ranger is dead-on right. I hate when that happens. :-)

It's been driving me crazy, all the misundetanding of this.

The Dems have never agreed in lockstep on anything. Newcomers to politics won't know how to see what's going on in the House and Senate for a while. Abd shoot, a lot of thre talking heads on cable and radio were kids, really , in '94, so they do know either.

For once we agree, LR. You can bet Pelosi knew the vote count. And I think you are right about paying the political debt.
