New Look

"Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better." ~ King Whitney Jr.

I have a new look. After debating whether I should do this for some time, my new girlfriend convinced me it would be a better look for me. Here are some before and after pictures. Let me know what you think.

Before:

After:

How about the new look with glasses?

Yes, that's right. I shaved my head! I have mentioned before that I am resistant to change and this, believe it or not, is a huge change for me. One of which I chose to make myself, albeit with one outside influence.

Personally, I like it. What do you think?

Thumbs up.
How long have you had the beard and mustache?

Mark said...

Trixie, i've had the beard and moustache since about 1980. This is the closest I've been to shaving the whole thing off since then.

Looks good, Mark.

You need to get smaller glasses now...

And maybe a Harley...

I don't know why men wear facial hair when the get over 40. Do they just wake up one morning and say, "Hmmm, I think I want to look 20 years older?"

Speakin' only for myself, I just don't see the point of shavin' every day. Hey, mark, wear a togo, or whatever it is they wear, and and you'd look like a Hare Krishna! ;-)

Well, I personally shave once a week, whether I need to or not.

I keep a goatee, but then again, I don't have any gray in it. (Yet.)

(I have only been married for 2 1/2 years...)

It's no fair that the lighting, background, and facial expression is different in the 1st picture from the other two.

I favor the first picture....just to complicate matters, here.

Mark, you didn't have much left to shave on the noggin but it made you look like a typical construction worker instead of a conservative intellectual, teasing.

Why do all before pictures show the subject scowling, and after pictures show them smiling?

Mark said...

Rick, the "before" picture was originally taken to show the amazing resemblance between me and Wichita Kansas' BTK killer, Dennis Rader. Not only do I look like him, we both lived in the same town, went to the same college, and he used to work for the same comapny my mom did...eerie.

I struck a pose similar to the pose of him in one of the pictures if him circulating the internet. He wasn't smiling in that picture so I didn't smile in this one.

I almost always smile in pictures because I am told I have a nice one.

Mark,
My father in-law says that God only made so many perfect heads in the world... for the rest of us, He gave us hair.

Looks great. And grey is not a bad thing... Among those of us who read Scripture closely, it is actually a blessing. After all, youth is wasted on the young... but wisdom is lasting...
Blessings

HEY!

How about a new post?

This one is interesting, but I've already read it.

The World is waiting with baited breath for more words of wisdom from the mind of Mark.

Get Busy. :-)
