Democrat Dictionary

"Here will be an old abusing of God's patience and the king's English." ~ William Shakespeare

"'Curiouser and curiouser!' Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English)" ~ Lewis Carroll

With all this recent talk about requiring immigrants to speak English and sing the National Anthem in English (I actually like the Spanish language version I've heard, as long as the words aren't translated to me), I have become increasingly aware that we also need, in addition to a Spanish/English Dictionary, A dictionary that defines the difference between real English words and terms, and Democratic words and terms.

I have noticed that the terms the Democrats use often are in direct juxtaposition with the actual terms. They define certain terms completely different than how people who have common sense do.

For instance. When the news was leaked that President Bush had been secretly wiretapping known al-Qaida operatives making and/or receiving phone calls from other al-Qaida operatives between some middles Eastern country and our own, we silly common sense Americans referred to that as electronicsurveillancee of probable terrorist suspects in an attempt to prevent further 9/11 style attacks against America.

Democrats curiously call that "domestic wiretapping".

Once, the term "domestic" used to be defined as "of, relating to, or originating within a country and especially one's own country" (according to Mr. Webster). But if that's true, then calling electronic surveillancee of known al-Qaida operatives "domestic wiretapping" would essentially be a lie.

A lie.

By the way, the word "leak" is also suspect, depending on the source. If it isperceivedd to be potentially damaging to Republicans, and President Bush specifically, it is not called a leak. It is called, in Democratic terminology, "Whistle Blowing". According to the Democrats, if it is potentially damaging to the Democrats, it is then properly characterized as a "leak".

Then, there's this latest terminology being bandied about. The National Security Agency has been collecting the phone records of millions of Americans, according to reports. That sounds intrusive, especially when Democrats call that "Domestic Spying". There's that new definition of the word, "Domestic", again.

Domestic spying, in this case, according to the Democrats, refers to collecting records that are already being kept by the phone companies in America, to ascertain if terrorists are calling each other over the phone to plan their next attack against America.

You know that little bill we all get every month that lists the long distance phone calls we make every month to show us that we are being charged, according to the pertinent phone company, correctly?

It's something like that, except these lists include all phone calls. Not just long distance. Phone companies have been keeping these records for decades. Possibly since shortly after the phone was invented. They are often used to establish a case against a felon, and aid in the prosecution of said felons.

Keeping these records is a good thing. For our own security. Never, as far as I know, has anyone ever objected to the phone company knowing that I spoke to my sister in Memphis back in July of last year for approximately 5 minutes.

In this case, it is domestic, but it isn't intrusive. Not unless the NSA is using that information to determine if Joe Bob, in Happy Haven Trailer park, in Dell, Arkansas, is making surrepticious phone calls to a 1-800- talk dirty phone sex operator operating out of her apartment in West Hollywood, California.

And why.

But they are not. The NSA has no interest whatsoever in Joe Bob's nocturnal activities, unless he is building a bomb with the intention of killing other Americans.

They are reviewing the records to see if a pattern can be established that indicates a collusion between two parties who have already been flagged as potential National Security Threats. Such as terrorists cells right here in America.

This is all done in an effort to protect American citizens from being vaporized by those who seek to destroy us, while going about their daily routine of trying to eke out a living for themselves and for their families.

Even the very Democrats that call it domestic spying.

Isn't it ironic that the very thing they are complaining about may one day save their own lives? Except that if they succeed in stopping the NSA, of course, it won't.

But I guess, according to the Democrats, personal privacy is more important than personal security. (try selling that one to any of the surviving members of those lost on September 11, 2001)

Another shining examle of Democratic terminology are the terms, "immigrants" and "undocumented workers". Aside from the fact that many of these so-called "undocumented workers" actually don't work at all, and are a drain on our already strained social security system, as well as our welfare coffers, they are nevertheless, according to the new Democratic dictionary, workers.

These terms should be properly translated by common sense folks as meaning "Illegal aliens" . They are called (now Democrats, try to follow this line of logical reasoning) illegal immigrants by common sense folks because they did something that is against the law. In this case, they entered our country without going through the proper, legal channels.

Democrats want to reward this unlawful behavior by granting them full citizenship rights. But more importantly, they want us to ignore the fact that they are illegal and refer to them simply as "immigrants", a term that real immigrants strenuously object to, as well they should.

Illegal anything should never be rewarded instead of punished, should it? What if we gave prizes to everyone who murdered someone, or robbed someone, or battered someone, instead of putting them in jail? Does anyone think the crime rate would suddenly go down?

So if someone who is attempting to enter our country illegally gets shot by a National Guardsman fo refusing to hearken to the "Halt!" command, I say, so what? They are illegal. They pose a threat to Americas security. Illegal activity must be stopped. If it takes shooting a few of them, that would be a direct consequence of their own decision to break our laws and dishonor our sovreignty. And it might (although not likely) serve as a deterrent to other potential law breakers.

In short, If one breaks the law by attempting to enter our country illegally, that makes them an illegal immigrant. Not just an immigrant. Not an undocumented worker. Not an uninvited visitor.

He is an illegal alien. That term, Democrats, is "Illegal" .

Got it?

See? When Democrats use these words and terms to alter the public's perception about what is really going on in America, I come to the conclusion that they are either very stubborn or very stupid. It's not like they haven't been told, ad nauseum, the real meaning of these words and terms. So those conclusions are the only conclusins that can be drawn, aren't they?

Either stubborn or stupid. Take your pick. I see no third alternative.

Do any of my readers have any other suggestions for words and terms that should go into our Democrat to common sense English dictionary?

Hello my friend:
Where you said,"Either stubborn or stupid. Take your pick. I see no third alternative."
The third altenative is "DISHONEST"...plain & simple.

That would fall under the category of Stubborn, wouldn't it?

It's all in the parsing. Their biggest triumph was in changing "freedom of speech" to "freedom of expression." Suddenly the freedom to speak out politicly became the freedom to do absolutely anything, from marching naked through San Francisco to producing virtual child pornography. Another all-time greatest hit is changing the First Amedment from meaning freedom of religion to freedom FROM religion. And then there's the good old Amendment Two, which went from guaranteeing our right to keep and bear arms to only government officials being armed. Where they got freedom of privacy is beyond me. It's a fourth dimension right that can be seen in the constitution only by liberals. Notice a pattern leading down the path to immorality and tyranny? I agree that these people are stubborn, stupid, and dishonest. And I'll add a third adjective -- DANGEROUS.

You REALLY don't want to get into a pissing contest with comparisons to Dems vs. Republicans obfuscation, do you?

A Clean Airs Initiative that lets our air get dirtier?

"Christianity" as being that faith which acts in contraposition to Jesus' teachings?

Freeing Iraq by blowing it up? Opposing nuclear proliferation by taking part in it? Honoring our veterans by smearing them? Strengthening families by cutting support?

Shall I go on?

tugboatcapn said...

Dan, when exactly has our air gotten dirtier?

In the Modern Era, the air has gotten cleaner and cleaner, by all honest measures, even though there are more cars on the road than ever before.

Tell me where Jesus ever said to ignore the suffering of others.

How does destroying the nuclear family and eliminating the need for fathers by replacing them with Government give-away programs help Families?

Please explain yourself.

Mark, don't forget how the Left has re-labeled "Originalist Judges" as "Judicial Activists", and "President during a time of War" as "War Criminal."

How about the way that "Talk Radio Listener" has been mischaracterized as "Right Wing Kook" or "Mind Numbed Robot", even though the Lefties seem far more willing to believe spin and lies from the Media.

Great post, Mark.

Keep it up.

Excellent, Mark. The problem with liberals is after awhile they begin believing their own lies, revisionist history included.

I've heard some people say we have no business sending the National Guard down south to protect that border. This proves a lack of common sense. What part of "National Guard" do they not understand? "National" regarding our "nation." "Guard" regarding protecting something, and together meaning to "Guard our Nation." Duh. Common sense flew out the window with these people along with their patriotism and honor. Thanks for a good read. :)

Mark, I have a few words but I'd rather keep them to myself. What you've described is clear as it can get and I agree. Illegal, is illegal, there is no justification. Just look at me, I got arrested last week for my son making a prank phone call. I am responsible for my children, so I will face the consequences. Then again, I am a legal citizen and have the right to defend myself.

Sure, I don't mind getting into that contest. Slavery, segregation, lynch law, black codes, Jim Crow, the KKK, Japanese concentration camps, nuking another country, abortion up until the minute of birth. The Democratic party has been a toxic collection of racism and murder ever since its inception.

Mark--
Please tell me you don't advocate shooting border crossers as a deterrent to illegal immigration.

As for your dictionary idea, we could call it a "Demo-Lexicon." Or a "Demoxicon."

Dan--
Dem's are the only one's I hear smearing our military. Talk to John Murtha-- Mr. "Marine in name only, --about smearing our marines. And as for Christians... Well... There's a lot of em out there who are, like RINO's, Christians in name only.

Oh, And I think what you meant was "Christians who act in contraposition to Jesus' teachings?" It is impossible for 'Christianity' itself to act in contraposition to Jesus' teachings. Parsed this way, I agree with you whole heartedly.

Is there such a thing as DINO's? Would that even be possible? Would Zell Miller fall into that category?

It's brilliant, it's patient, it's working, and the topic of your post is a bit part in it's application.

Very good, Mark.......But quit stealing my topic headlines......LOL!

I'd like to buy a copy of that dictionary when you're done with it! ;-)

Hah! Marie's comment is priceless. :)

Democrats & the MSM have been master spinners on terminology for as long as I've been paying attention. The ultimate example is saying you're pro-choice not pro-abortion or pro-baby killer.

Talk about taking things out of context!

Do you use the same tactics while studying the Word, Dan?

Al-Ozarka said...

LMS, they can't really claim the "Pro-Choice" label ethically. They ignore the rights of the unborn child!

Heck, who NEEDS a dictionary when you can put meanings to words--no matter what they are or how they're arranged in a particular statement!

LOL

There has yet to be ONE case of an American whose civil liberties have been infringed as a result of NSA terrorist monitoring.

And frankly, even if "Joe Bob" in that trailer park in Arkansas was talking about building a bomb, to listen to his DOMESTIC call, the government would have to get a warrant.

And if I had more time, I could go into some detail on why the FISA process for getting warrants on these other NSA calls is broken. Frankly, anyone with an ounce of common sense who has looked into this matter knows that already and my time spent on educating moonbats would be wasted.

But more to your point: When you are able to set the terms for a debate, such as defining the words, you control the debate.

If we had a news media that served the interest of promoting an honest debate these tactics wouldn't pass muster.

But do a google news search on the terms "NSA Domestic Spying"

http://news.google.com/news?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-04,GGLG:en&q=NSA+Domestic+Spying

You get a couple thousand misleading headlines, even full stories that fail to accurately report what is going on here.

You see the damage of these misleading headlines in the comments of your resident Socialist and genocidal apologist: Dan Trabue!

After the meanings of words become so very twisted, thought patterns follow. The result is that good is bad and bad is good. Examples such as "Freeing Iraq by blowing it up" is simply an outrageous statement.

By any measure, more Iraqis are alive today because our invasion brought Saddam's killing machine to an end. The next time some horrible attack on civilians in Iraq is reported, just remember that this carnage was going on at a much higher rate day in and day out for decades without so much as a whimper from the media.

Many of those, like Dan, who purport to hold "peace" and "social justice" as the highest values have allowed their professed beliefs to become corrupted by a darker and more sinister underlying force.

Mr. Mike said:
"Many of those, like Dan, who purport to hold "peace" and "social justice" as the highest values"

You say that as if peace and justice were bad things.

Still, peace? Well that's a fine value, no doubt about it and one to be strived for. But I don't know that I consider it the highest - one could have a "peace" that was totally devoid of justice, for instance and that would be a pisspoor thing.

And I don't know what you mean by "social justice," but certainly justice is an ideal to work towards, but even then, I don't know that I'd consider it the highest value.

There's integrity, for instance and personal responsibility - those ought to be right up there at the top, wouldn't you think?

But for me, I'll stick to the biblical suggestion that these three remain, faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.

For as the bible suggests, if I work for peace or just talk to those who disagree with me and have not love, then what good is it?

Still, while I shall have the goal of acting with love towards my brothers and sisters here and those Iraqis there and even W Bush and those terrorists out there, I shall have to continue to work towards justice and peace, because what else can we do, if we are to be serious about this love thing?

stubborn or stupid? as much as it pains me to admit, democrats are neither. they know that they can (and have) change(d) public opinion by subverting the term 'illegal immigrant' with 'undocumented worker'. 'stubborn or stupid' is a dangerous underestimation of the 'enemy'

Wouldn't it be nice if "peace" and "justice" meant PEACE and JUSTICE and were not just an Orwellian figleaf of socialists out to cripple the one force in the world that could actually make those values reality instead of sloganeering ???

Again, the lessons of history are not kind to those who continue to twist the meaning of especially powerful words like peace and justice to impose a flawed Utopian vision on the rest of us.

How many millions more will die before the likes of Trabue and company admit their complicity in the failures of socialism???
