More Stupid Liberals

"It is better to confess ignorance than provide it." ~ Homer Hickam

Newsbusters has published a video featuring George Lopez, comedian and talk show host under the headline, "George Lopez: If Sarah Palin Becomes President ‘I Will Move to Canada’.

While that, in itself, is a typically stupid statement by a typical wacko Hollywood Liberal, it isn't the first time one of these nuts has threatened to move out of the USA if certain Republicans get elected.

Robert Altman, big time Hollywood director, once famously said, "If George W. Bush is elected president, I'm leaving for France."

He didn't, by the way. He still lives in America.

Here's the video:

But, what astounds me even more than that statement about moving to Canada, is this statement: "I like my politicians to actually have a political background, to be politically -- to know politics, to actually have inherited something from working in the political world."

This completely amazes me.

This is from a guy that (presumably) voted for a community organizer over a career politician in 2008. And now, apparently he thinks that a background of being a Mayor and a Governor, not to mention a candidate for Vice President, somehow isn't political experience.

Then, he carried it even further by saying (You can't make this stuff up), "Or do we elect somebody by their smile instead of by their content?"

Just how does he think Obama got elected? My God, Obama is the poster boy of no content!

You know? I've been thinking lately that I've been wrong about Sarah Palin. I think she'd make a great President.

If, for no other reason, electing her President will make stupid Hollywood Celiberals move out of the country.

Just another example of how liberals never really live their worldview.

The great Robert Altman died in 2006.

"Nashville" remains the great early prophecy that American culture was disintegrating.

It really looked like he's lost it but came back strong in the end with "Gosford Park" and "Prairie Home Companion". A real actor's director.

By the way Mark, it really shows your lack of understanding when you call Altman a "Hollywood" director. He was part of an indie movement in the 60's and he was the one they didn't knock of his feet.

He just kept making films and never joined the studio system. Made some real clunkers and several absolute classics:

Nashville
M.A.S.H.
McCabe and Mrs. Miller
3 Women
Secret Honor
The Player (vicious satire of Hollywood, stream it)
Short Cuts
... he had a very reputable catalog and he never played the Hollywood game.

I stand corrected. Robert Altman lived in America until he died. In AMERICA.

And, he died a stupid moronic Liberal.

"I like my piano tuner to actually have an music background, to be musically -- to know pianos, to actually have inherited something from working in the music world."

Sarah Palin has run for national office, but say she is an experienced governor is stretching the truth. Being governor of Alaska or mayor of a small city is not enough experience for a presidential candidate.

You don't like Barak Obama but he has been involved in all levels of politics for decades, and been a state senator from a very diverse state with challenges equivalent to those of the wider nation.

Every time anyone to the right of Stalin gets elected, the liberals "threaten" (i.e. promise) to leave the country. But they don't. And they just assume that any country would be glad to have them. Canada's gene pool will never recover from the draft dodgers.

It isn't much of a gaffe to state tongue in cheek that you'll leave.

It's more serious to believe that the pole dancer is actually going to run.

Bent makes one of the stupidest statements I've seen in a long time when he writes, "Sarah Palin has run for national office, but say she is an experienced governor is stretching the truth."

No it isn't, Bent. It is the absolute, incontrovertible truth.

Obama had nearly zero political experience when he ran for President. He was elected Senator through default when he made false charges against his opponent which caused his opponent to drop out of the race. While he was in the Senate, he voted present more often than voting anything else, which is basically the same as not really participating, and used the balance of his time in the Senate engaged in campaigning for President.

Sarah Palin actually did her job as Governor, and enjoyed high approval ratings throughout her Governorship.

You can try to minimize her political experience all you want, but she has tons more political experience than Obama.

Mark said...

Yeah, Ducky, I said Lopez's statement that he'd leave wasn't that important. I said the really stupid statement he made was saying Palin doesn't have political experience. And then he got even stupider when he attributed Obama's campaign style to Palin's.

Mark said...

By the way, Bent, I used to know a piano tuner, and he couldn't play the piano.

Ducky's here said...

What political experience does she have?

She was mayor of a small(real small town) and raised taxes and left them deep in debt.

She was governor of a state with a smaller population than Boston and quit after a year or so having accomplished nothing.

The woman is a bimbo. She's so stupid that she screwed up a softball interview with Katie Couric.

I do hope she runs. Tina Fey will destroy her.

"through default when he made false charges against his opponent which caused his opponent to drop out of the race."

Seriously? Made false charges against his opponent? Who in the world does that? (snark)

Got any sources for that?

"While he was in the Senate, he voted present more often than voting anything else"

This is false. He voted "present" several times in the Illinois senate which is a common procedural practice.

(sigh) Immutable Truths About Liberals #11. There are no honest liberals. If they were honest -- especially to themselves -- they would be conservatives.

Avert your eyes, Ducky. The Truth follows:

During her time in Wasilla, Sarah cut property taxes, opposed unnecessary government regulations, prioritized infrastructure development, and attracted jobs and businesses to the city. Under her leadership, the town was grew and prospered.

As a governor, Palin cut spending. She had two major legislative accomplishments: AGIA (Alaska Gasline Inducement Act), which restarted a stalled project to build a pipeline to deliver Alaska’s oil and natural gas to the lower 48, and ACES (Alaskans’ Clear and Equitable Share), which restructured a disastrous system of taxing oil comapnies to one that worked better for both the people of Alaska and the oil companies. Some of Palin’s opponents (such as members of the CBC who were abusing the tax system) have criticized this plan as “redistributing wealth” since it taxes oil companies and gives individual Alaskans a check from oil revenues. However, the Alaskan Constitution specifies that the resources of Alaska belong to the people (not the state, which would be socialist), oil companies were already taxed (but corruption flourished under Murkowski), and in reality a shareholder model would be the more appropriate analogy. Instead of the state wasting the money, citizens are given back their tax dollars . In her years as Governor, she reduced the state budget 9.5% over her predecessor and put $5 billion in state savings.

As for quitting, she was under constant attack from liberals. Not a week went by when some liberal group didn't file a frivolous lawsuit against her. She decided that the attacks were such a distraction that she could not concentrate on governing.

As usual, the despicable left turned the decision against her. They stabbed her in the back and blamed her for the blood on the carpet.

Ducky is the last person in the world to call someone else stupid. A stupid person is not someone who can't learn. A stupid person is someone who refuses to learn.

Ducky's here said...

You get that from her campaign site?

The pipe line bill had been in the legislature for a year, all she did was sign it. She had NO input to the bill.

Likewise the oil company tax.

Unfortunately, Lopez is one of classless jerks who has no loyalty to the country he was born in or the one to the south that gives him his hispanic and Indian heritage. Maybe the French Canadian culture will be more to his liking?

It's tools like him and his "ilk" like Daffy and the anonymous troll "jim" that give progressives such a bad name in the eyes of patriotic Americans.

Sarah Palin is a true American Hero. Thank God for Sarah palin!!

I'm over Palin BIG TIME, but I do think if her winning gets libs to leave, that would be a bonus. Maybe we could actually get an honest news media which would print both sides, like Conservatives would like, like FOX does every day? Ya think?

She's got the experience; FAR FAR MORE THAN OBAMA EVER HAD, that's for sure! But......she seems lately to be more in it for herself than for America. Hey, at least she's got that in common with Obama.

I saw the Lopez interview on Morgan last night, or most of it.... Morgan was SO HAPPY with Lopez' politics. There's not even an attempt at real conversation there; it's just leftwing propaganda again, like with Larry King.
I believe it was Lopez who fought the Leftwing closing of our California Central Valley to save a tiny fish....maybe he didn't realize it was by the leftwing, even though a Councilman standing next to him in the interview from that area about a year ago said words that gave me a chill,,, "I don't know why the San Francisco Council's been trying to close the Central Valley for years...but they finally found some idiotic reason to do so." But, his mother and thousands like her were losing their homes because of the lack of work from this hideous treatment of that once-fertile and productive land, so when it hit Lopez personally, he was suddenly on the side of the Conservative.

Mark said...

Z, that was Paul Rodriquez, who subsequently turned Conservative. At least, for a while anyway. I don't know what his ideological stance is now.

Ducky's here said...

z, you still hoping Trump gets back in the race. You fell for that stunt.

The pizza man just apologized for being a bigot the other day, he was your other favorite. He has business experience, when he took over Godfather's Pizza it never made another dime. Neat.

Or are you switching to Bachmann? Be careful, her buddy Bradlee Dean the homophobe just sued Rachel Maddow and Michele is going to catch some backlash. She'll be down to nothing more than the Baggers soon. Talk about seeds and stems.

So who is it? You can't possibly be taking L'il Ricky Retardo seriously.

Get used to Romney.

"As for quitting, she was under constant attack from liberals. Not a week went by when some liberal group didn't file a frivolous lawsuit against her. She decided that the attacks were such a distraction that she could not concentrate on governing."

Assuming that the lawsuit thing is true (and I don't think it is), is that any different from any other governor in the country? She didn't have lawyers to address "frivolous lawsuits"?

This whole premise is a joke.

The obvious fact is that as governor she couldn't hope to make the kind of money that would allow her to live in the style that she had gotten a taste of as VP candidate. Being governor would instead distract her from the book deals, the "reality" shows, the documentaries, the Fox News gig, and all the other opportunities to rake in the dough not to mention the limelight she craves (see "family vacation" to the east coast).

Mark said...

"Assuming that the lawsuit thing is true (and I don't think it is), is that any different from any other governor in the country? She didn't have lawyers to address "frivolous lawsuits"?"

Jim, I thought you were the guy who perused a variety of sites, both Conservative and Liberal. How is it you don't know about all the lawsuits that were filed against Palin almost daily? I suppose you also don't know that they were all thrown out of court for being unmerited and frivolous, too?

I guess that you, too, are connected to a different internet.

Assuming you really don't know about the lawsuits (and I think you do), It's different because other governors have only a fraction of lawsuits filed against them that she did, and, I find it incredulous that you don't seem to think Lawyers cost money. One of the other reasons she gave for resigning was, besides the lawsuits were a distraction, but that they were costing the State of Alaska millions of dollars in legal fees.

Thanks for proving both my point that Liberals are stupid, and Liberal truths 2, 11, 14, and 22.

Ya know, the risk of being called a heretic, I have to sort of agree with the liberals about Palin. She doesn't seem to me to have any substance and is more of a showboat.

I don't think she is anywhere close to being presidential material, and yet that seems to be how the media wants the conservatives to go, knowing she hasn't a ghost's chance in hell of getting it.

How about we look towards a real candidate such as Michelle Bachmann!

Always On Watch said...

Actually, a Canadian whom I personally know and who hails from Canada and how lives in the United States, said that he would move back to Canada if anyone associated with the Tea Party Movement got elected in 2012. So, I guess that I'm not surprised by this statement from Lopez.

Ducky's here said...

Glenn, Michele Bachmann has lived of the government teat all her life. She is a serious fraud.

That will come out along with the government payments to her husband's "pray then straight" clinic. She's meat. This suit against Rachel Maddow that her friend the insane "pastor" Bradlee Dean (Hint: Think Reverend Wright) initiated won't help help her lack of appeal to normals.

It's Romney. And make no mistake it will be him that launches the attacks on Crazy Lady. Don't blame the liberals.

LR said, "They seem incapable of finding any facts that disprove their beliefs."

Why do you think that is? There's only a couple of reasons:

1) They have no desire to look for anything that would disprove their beliefs. Why would anyone do that? Would you LR?

2) There ARE NO FACTS that disprove their beliefs.

LR's statement gets the award for most inane, convoluted comment of the week.

Keep up the good work, LR!

By the way, did anybody catch Sen. Rubio's speech on the budget this weekend, and his put down of John Kerry who stupidly challenged him? Classic! (Kerry , as you may remember is the Reserve Naval Officer who met with the North Vietnamese in Paris, thereby committing treason, but avoiding the hangman's noose, to go on purposely harming the America he hates ever since.)

I would have absolutely no problem voting for Palin, Bachmann or darn near any right wing candidate over O'Bumble. That would be a no-brainer as it's difficult to find a right wing candidate that is as stupid as he is. Merely being a right leaning candidate makes you smarter and more qualified.

But enough with the obvious.

There is a major fallacy in believing someone must have a certain amount of political experience in order to be president. More important than that is with whom one surrounds one's self should one get elected. Obama has surrounded himself with people as stupid as he is, so we have a deteriorating country as a result.

Palin, however, projects a sense of innate good judgement as evidenced by the mere fact that she is a conservative politician. She understands instinctively the best course because she isn't quite the self-promoter even some on the right seem to believe she is. (There is always some level of self-promotion and ego involved with politics, as well as success in general---big deal!) I have no doubt that Palin presidency would result in a positive turn-around of our nation, especially if she is blessed with a House and Senate bereft of the Harry Reids and Nancy Pelosis that infest Congress.

One other thing in her favor is the leftist hatred of her. The more one is despised by the left, the more likely that person is good for the nation.

Jim said...

Dick, if you actually read my posts instead of reflexively making ad hominem comments, you'd know that I use the word "ridiculous" all the time in response to many posts on this blog (yours in particular). In fact, I learned how to spell the word from using it here.
