Stop Smearing Christians

"The moral and religious system which Jesus Christ transmitted to us is the best the world has ever seen, or can see." ~ Benjamin Franklin

Listen: Any group that plans to kill police officers or anybody else is not a Christian group.

True Christians don't murder people.

The very fact that these so-called journalists don't understand this simple fact is proof that the left wing media in this country are atheists.

I get so tired of hearing these leftist media outlets refer to these Godless cults as "Christian". There is nothing Christian about them.

I don't care if they say they're Christian. I don't care if they have the word "Christian" in their name. I don't care if they go to church every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If they make plans to murder anyone, they are definitely not Christians.

Got that, Media?

They don't have it. They never will. See, they called themselves JOURNALISTS. A real journalist researches and reports the news without bias. These people pick and choose, reporting only that which they agree with.

So if they don't know what a journalist is when they claim to be one, how can they POSSIBLY know what a Christian is?

Jim said...

So let me get this straight. These groups call themselves Christians, cite biblical references and pray and plan for one of the most significant events in the Christian bible and media should ignore this?

Only on Fox.

Mark said...

No, Jim. The media should not ignore this. It is news.

But they shouldn't label these nuts Christians.

I believe that was my point. How did you happen to miss it entirely?

He misses everything entirely.

Joe said...

You are right, but MSM, they don't got that.

Jim: If your comment means that you think they are Christians because they call themselves that, quote the Bible and supposedly pray, you have absolutely, positively no idea what makes one a Christian.

A Christian is, and only is, one who has trusted in and only in the finished work of Christ at Calvary, who has turned from sin to follow Christ.

Everyone else who calls him/herself "Christian" is a bald faced imposter. Period.

Mark said...

Jim. Christian bible? Pray tell me...what other kinds of Bibles are there?

A non-Christian Bible? I have no idea what that would be like.

Jim said...

Hey Mark! Every hear of the Hebrew Bible?

Or do Jews not count in your world?

Hey Joe. I've been a christian for 60 years and I don't need you to tell me who is and who isn't a christian. Cambridge Dictionary defines "christian" thusly:

someone who believes in and follows the teachings of Jesus Christ.

And I don't care how you define it and neither do the "MSM", the Hutari's, or anybody else who considers themselves a christian. Only an egotistical ass would insist that he is the arbiter of who can or cannot be a christian.

Mark said...

Jim, you idiot. The Bible is the Bible. The Jews holy book is the Torah.

I don't believe it's possible for a Liberal to be a Christian. Those two ideologies are incompatible with each other. How do you reconcile all those Liberal talking points with Christianity? Jesus said, "You cannot serve two masters." How can you worship Obama and worship God at the same time?

If you claim to be both Christian and a Liberal, you are both a hypocrite and a liar.

Jim said...

What an arrogant, ignorant ass you've just proved you are!

"Christian militia" is an oxymoron. A religion should be judged by its teachings, not by those who violate them.

These people might call themselves Christians, cite the Bible and pray and plan for THE most significant event in the Christianity, but that doesn't make them Christians.

Reporting them as such is done only by bigots and fools.

Marshall Art said...

I gotta take a different stance here. While I agree that Christians don't seek to engage in terrorist activities, like attacking cops, and while I also agree that the MSM is largely a bunch of Christian smearing heathens, it is indeed right and proper for a journalist to report that a group like the "Hutaris" call themselves "Christian" if they indeed do. It is NOT proper for a journalist to decide for himself if the term is properly applied by the group using the term.

At the same time, I wouldn't be adverse to a journalist adding that it is not commonplace for a group labeling themselves as "Christians" to be engaging in murder and mayhem, or that such a militia group is acting in a manner untypical of the average Christian.

What bothers me even more is when the MSM takes forever to make a connection between a Muslim, his terrorist actions and the influence of HIS religion. This is typical, as we saw with just about any murder, attempted murder or attempted terrorist action by someone with a Muslim name.

But as far as Christians are concerned, it is one thing for us to judge a self-described "Christian" by his actions, but for the media, to report of such people and to report what they call themselves is what they should be doing as reporters. I just want to see the same protocols followed for every group who claims their actions are based on their religion.

(Koran 8:12) "Remember Thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the believers, I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them."

That is just one of the many verses in the Koran and the Hadiths that urge violence. This so-called Christian militia would more appropriately be Muslims.

Mark said...

And I disagree with you, Art. The so-called "journalists" aren't reporting that the group calls themselves Christian. They are labeling them Christian militia.

In their twisted minds, Christianity is synonymous with violent right wing extremist nuts, and, by labeling them thus, they smear all Christians.

Just as those who call themselves Christians should be judged by their fruits, One must judge these journalists not only by their words but also by their intentions. And, their intent is clear.

But I do agree with you that a double standard exists in the journalistic community when it comes down to making connections between violent terrorist attacks and religion. Why do they make the connection so quickly with any nuts who call themselves Christian, but don't seem to connect Islam with violence?

Again, it comes down to intent. They are pushing an agenda, and, as any dutiful little Liberal atheist journalist will do, they demonize Christians and praise Islam.

Matthew 7:22-23

Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Not everyone who calls themself a Christian truly is.

Jim said...

Rick, you're just about the last person that I'd be taking advice from.

Mark said...

Considering the type of people you will take advice from, I think Rick takes that as a compliment.

Jim said...

You have no idea whatsoever about the people I take advice from.

Mark said...

Of course I do, Jim. You've been very open about what sites you get your ideas from. Daily KOS, HuffPo, DU, Olberman, Maddow, Matthews.

But keep stopping by here for daily doses of lucidity.

Jim said...

I also watch Bill O'Reilly every night. Really.

And the operative word here was "advice", not ideas. I take no advice from any of those sites or shows. Don't get MY ideas from them either, but I do listen to the opinions.

I get no lucidity here, that's for sure. I get a few yucks, though.

Jim: As you have followed Christ for these 60 years (?), is He the one who taught you to call others names? Is He the one who taught you to be condescending toward those with whom you disagree? Is He the one who taught you to ridicule and be intolerant of others' points of view?

Tell me, Jim, just what part of Christ's teachings are you following?

The Bible is pretty clear about what makes one a Christian, and it has nothing to do with knowing a dictionary definition.

Mark said...

Joe, what's most intriguing to me about Jim's claim to be a Christian for 60 years isn't in the seemingly un-Christian behavior he oft times exhibits.

Because, truth be told, all Christians have faults. We can hardly be judgmental without exposing ourselves to be hypocritical. ordewr for Jim to have been a Christian for 60 years, he would have to be at least 60 years old, and it amazes me that anyone of that age could still be a Liberal.

Winston Churchill is reported to have said something like, If a man isn't a Liberal before he's 40, he has no heart. If he isn't a Conservative after he's 40, he has no brain.
