"I see by your outfit that you are a cowboy. You see by my outfit that I'm a cowboy, too. We see by our outfits that we are all cowboys. If you get an outfit, you can be a cowboy, too." ~ Smothers Brothers
On the back wall of the electronics department at WalMart is a bank of HD-LCD Televisions. They play a loop of advertisements of WalMart products plus short interviews of the WalMart music "artist of the month". As I walked by, the loop played about 4 or 5 notes of a song being sung by one of these artists. It sounded just like "Streets of Laredo" to me. Now I can't get that song out of my head.
A cowboy song isn't a cowboy song unless it's performed by Marty Robbins. Or the Sons of the Pioneers, but they were a group. I mean a solo artist.

Happy Trails to you is a cowboy song.
Yes, it is, Rick. Touche.
I'm not listening to that video..you're not going to get ME finding it impossible to get that tune out of MY head :-)
a NOTE TO oBAMA:
cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Trying to catch the Devil's herd, across these endless skies
Cowboys or not, you better be ready to strip off your boots and hat for security whilst the Muslim woman goes through COMPLETELY COVERED...
Hey! What about Gene Autry?
Touche to you, too, Joe.
Toby Keith, maybe 6 or 7 years ago, had a country hit with 'Shoulda been a Cowboy,' now THAT'S a cowboy song.
Not that Sons of the Pioneers couldn't belt out a cowboy song or two themselves.
I think Matt went up and visited Miss Kitty on a pretty regular basis--
OK. Touche again and again. And Tex Ritter, Roy Rogers, and on and on and on.
Is there anyone more underrated than Marty Robbins?
