“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." ~ Matthew 7:6. I'm just casting pearls of wisdom before Swine Liberals, knowing in advance they think they're too smart to agree.
Glenn, I was just leaving work to come home for lunch, when I walked past a woman named Tammy sitting at a table in the breakroom. Someone said, "Hi, Tammy", and I suddenly thought of this song. Then, as I drove home, I couldn't seem to think of anything else, so I looked it up on youtube when I got home.
sn't that weird how things happen like that? Yesterday a girl named Cecilia was helping us at Panera and for the next couple hours Simon & Garfunkels' song was in my head!
Tammy was just barely before my time (released when I was 2), though I remember my Mom singing this ditty all the time.
ReplyDeleteNow, how about 'Where the Boys Are' by Connie Francis?
I watched this movie on the late show when I was in school. I also have Ed Ames singing this on an album which used to be my mom's.
ReplyDeleteBut my question is, why is this in your head?
Whenever somebody mentions Ed Ames, I automatically picture Mingo in Daniel Boone with Fess Parker as Dan'l.
ReplyDeleteThis is in our top ten--the breeze from the bayou--classic!

ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I used to love this song, but had forgotten all about it.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I used to play this song on the piano all the time.
Commenters here mentioned Ed Ames. What a voice! I still listen to his Christmas LP every year.
