He went on to explain that these marches and rallies on Washington never accomplish anything. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">The problem with that argument is this: Two men or two women cannot love each other in the way a heterosexual couple can. What they're doing is confusing love with lust. In Romans 1, Paul testifies that because men had iniquity in their hearts, and rejected God, <b>"God gave them up unto vile affections: for even the women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another."</b></span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">After the Sandy Hook massacre, it was a mere <b>four hours</b> before Obama launched himself into the gun control controversy. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;"> Unfortunately, <b>every time</b> Obama makes a statement, he comes down on the wrong side of the fence.</span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">The case of the murderous Kermit Gosnell has been covered by Conservative media and Conservative blogs for twenty seven months, and his trial is ongoing. Conservatives have been asking ad nauseum, <b>"Why isn't Obama saying anything about this tragedy?"</b></span><br />

Ann Coulter, in her latest column, points out that the Sandy Hook shooting is <b>only the latest</b> in a series of mass murders that have been carried out by crazy people. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">All of these latest mass murders have been committed by crazy people. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">If crazy people can be prevented from buying guns, there is a chance that some mass murders can be prevented. <b>Not a big chance</b>, I emphasize, but a chance.</span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">Now. Imagine that there is a background check to check for mental illness required to purchase a gun. Even if the prospective gun owner doesn't have a history of mental illness, that would require a waiting period.</span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;"><b>A waiting period is a minor inconvenience, but it could prevent other types of shootings</b></span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">Many of these types of crimes are committed by someone who is not necessarily crazy, but is angry enough to suspend reason. That kind of angry subsides in time. A waiting period would prevent some crimes committed in the heat of passion. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;"><b>No doubt mass murders will still happen</b>. Crazy people can get guns in <b>other ways</b>, and in fact, <b>usually do</b>. Adam Lanza stole his mother's gun. Guns can be purchased on street corners illegally. And, guns can be stolen. </span><br />

<span style="color: #666666;">Some of my readers likely already know this, but since last November, I have neglected my blogging in favor of posting my thoughts on Facebook. Facebook has allowed me to get in touch with old friends and acquaintances from my past, such as high school friends and people who grew up in the same neighborhood as I did. It has been, overall, a wonderful experience, and many of those long lost acquaintances have become close friends. Many of them I didn't even know well back then.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">On the other hand, posting my thoughts, especially my thoughts on religion and politics, on Facebook have made enemies of some of my old respected friends and relatives, and that is an unfortunate consequence I never intended.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">Recently, my brother told me he wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't on the Secret Service's "people to watch" list for all my political Facebook posts. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">So, I'm back blogging. My blog doesn't automatically appear on everyone's newsfeed whether they like it or not. I think a blog is a better medium for political thoughts.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">OK. This is what's been happening: My short term memory is not so good, so I won't go all the way back to November, and will only highlight the major events in my life since March. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">In March of this year, two major events were going on around here. One good, one not. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">1. The men's basketball team from the college I attended, Wichita State University, earned a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament, and actually advanced all the way to the final four teams before finally losing to Louisville University, thanks to a couple of bad calls by the referees near the end. We lost by a mere 4 points. Louisville eventually won the championship by six points over Michigan. Personally, I believe that tells us something. I leave it to my readers to ascertain what.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">2. My 92 year old mother, who has been in a care home since last year, took a rather sudden turn for the worse. While her memory has been slipping somewhat for the past few years, she suddenly began getting more and more confused. I visited her at the home every week. Up until March 14, she had been almost as sharp as ever, but on that day, I found her wheeling her wheelchair out of the care home dining room as if she were going back to her room, but she was going the opposite direction. When I tried to wheel her back to her room, she placed her hands on the wheels and said, "No!" But, she couldn't tell me what she wanted, She would start to say something, and then it was as if she forgot what she started to say.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">This was distressing for me, because she had always been so strong, so smart, and now, she was slipping. Fast. She was awake and talking, but the light in her eyes was no longer there.I finally got her back into her room, and conversation between us was short. She wasn't thinking clearly. I told her I loved her and she told me she loved me, too, but when I attempted to leave, she pleaded with me to stay. "Don't leave me", she said. But I really had to go, and I felt horrible about having to leave. In retrospect, I guess I should have just stayed there until she fell asleep. Under the circumstances I know my wife would have understood why I wasn't home in time. I still feel a little guilty about that.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">The next week she seemed improved, and we had a better conversation. Twice, though, she said, "I want to go home." I didn't know if she was talking about her earthly home or her heavenly home and she didn't explain. All I could think of to say in reply was, "I know, Mom." At this point Mom had a moment of clarity. She kind of smiled and looked me straight in the eye, and said, "Oh, how do you know that?"</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">The next week, I received a call from my brother, telling me I had better come to the home, because it looked m like Mom might not live through the day. I went, and found her lying in bed comatose, and, except for occasionally squeezing my hand, unresponsive. She didn't die that day, in fact, she lived another week, and finally, on March 28, she passed quietly into eternity to walk with Jesus. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">I am not sad. I am rather envious of her, in a way.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">The same evening my Mom passed away, The Shockers </span><span style="color: #666666;">defeated the AP number one ranked team in the nation, Gonzaga, </span><span style="color: #666666;">propelling them into the "Elite Eight" in the NCAA tournament. I watched it on television. That was fun.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;"> Immediately after the game, I heard strange noises coming from my bedroom. Investigating, I found my wife lying across the bed, flat on her back, her head tilted back, her eyes and mouth open, and she was making noises, alternately snoring with each intake of breath, and a kind of whining sound with each outtake. I couldn't wake her up, and I began to be concerned so I called 911. Shortly the paramedics arrived, and, in short order, determined her blood sugar was dangerously low. It registered 31. They administered glucose or sucrose or some kind of sugary substance through IV and brought her around, and then, transported her to the hospital. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">I lost my mother, and nearly lost my wife in the same day! My wife spent the next three days in the hospital and I was able to bring her home on Easter Sunday. She was able to attend my mother's memorial service with me the following Thursday.</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">Mom's memorial service was a celebration service. She was so close to the Lord throughout her lifetime that no one has any doubts she is in Heaven now, and my entire family is happy for her. There were no tears shed at her service except tears of joy. My oldest brother, a retired foreign missionary and pastor, officiated at her graveside service. All of my 5 brothers and sisters came from all over the country to participate in Mom's last farewell. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">It was the first time since 1979 all 6 of us were together at the same time in the same place. What a blessing it was to be able to get together and swap memories and jokes with them all!</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">All in all, a very eventful March. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666;">Let's hope April and the rest of this year go better. I will resume my introspective political posts later.</span><br />

Unfortunately, Mr. Burke's quotation was a prediction that has come true. Good men have done nothing, or at least, not enough to change the inevitable. I have recently come to the conclusion that Conservatism is doomed. There will be no more Conservative Republican Presidents. Evil has triumphed. <br />
<br />
Here are my reasons:<br />

1. <b>Illegal aliens</b>. The Democrats are within reach of legalizing illegal aliens. It is only a matter of time. There aren't enough Conservative voices out there to stop them. Polls show illegal aliens, if allowed to vote in the United States' elections, would vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Democrats have been pushing "immigration reform". This is a term meaning illegals attaining American citizenship without having to go through the legal process. Legalizing illegal aliens will create a block of Democrat voters that will make any and all Democrat candidates unbeatable.<br />
<br />
2. <b>Voter fraud</b>. Even without the illegal alien vote, Democrats have the majority of the votes in elections sewn up, as long as they can prevent any more states from instituting voter ID laws. In the last Presidential election, the only states with majority votes cast for the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, were the states that had voter ID laws. Every state that Obama carried did not have them. The reason Democrats are so opposed to voter ID laws is because those laws make it much more difficult to commit voter fraud. If an individual voter is allowed to vote multiple times for one candidate because they aren't required to prove who they are, and required to prove they already voted once, especially if hundreds, or even thousands are doing it, their candidate will win. Thus, Democratic candidates are assured victory.<br />
<br />
3. <b>Public school indoctrination</b>. Even if, somehow, Democrats fail to legalize illegal aliens, and even if all the states have voter ID laws (which won't happen), there are other guarantees that voters will vote Democrat candidates into office. Many of the current voters are baby boomers, or older. The voters who actually understand why Communism is anti-liberty are dying out.The government school system has been working diligently to create Democrats in numbers unparalleled. They use revisionist history and push socialism as a preferred system of government. Public schools have been teaching students <b>what</b> to think and not <b>how</b> to think for a couple of decades now. They are turning out low information and Democrat voters in astonishing numbers.<br />
<br />
4. <b>The Media. </b>The media are complicit in this re-education of America. If they report anything detrimental to Democrats at all they twist it and spin it to make it appear as if the Republicans are the bad guys. Any news that would harm the Democrat agenda is either under reported or ignored. The only way the Conservative message will be heard by the under informed voters (which is rapidly becoming the majority), is by accident. Political Facebook posts and posts on other social media such as twitter, etc, are the only way the truth is getting out there and getting any exposure to the public. Unfortunately, people who participate in such social media are free to "unfriend" or ignore messages that are unpleasant. If they'd rather read recipes and look at pictures of cats, they can do that and never have to think at all.<br />
<br />
I hate to say this, but it appears the only hope for this country now, is to let Socialism win. Once this country is totally Communist, these same low information Democratic voters will <b>finally</b> understand what oppression and loss of liberty and freedom really means. Once the realization of what the people have done to themselves sets in, <b>the only ultimate solution is revolt</b>.

This cycle will continue on and on and on until the business goes <b>bankrupt</b> and/or <b>out of business</b>, or, </span><br />

If that happens, there are <b>less people employed</b> and, consequently, <b>less people who can afford the higher prices</b> started because the business owner had to pay ever increasing higher taxes. This will undoubtedly happen to enough business owners that it <b>will have a lasting impact</b> on each and everyone of us, the taxpaying public.</span><br />

It is a sad fact that some registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, would just rather let the politicians fight it out among themselves and let the chips fall where they may. </span><br />

Here are some of the problems I foresee when Obamacare goes into effect:<br />

First, he says I can keep my health insurance. That is, if my health insurance company doesn't go bankrupt, or worse, out of business, because of the prohibitive costs of Government regulation and red tape. If they don't go out of business, the expenses incurred by all the regulations and provisions demanded by the Obama administration's health insurance Department (yet another expense that will be borne by the tax payers), and, headed up by Obama's Insurance Czar, will <b>necessarily</b> make the costs of health insurance skyrocket, to the point where <b>"middle class"</b> Americans will not be able to afford their own insurance premiums. <br />
<br />
So then, if the citizen can no longer afford their own health insurance premiums, Obama's plan will <b>punish</b> him with a tax. What if the citizen can't afford to pay the tax? Will he then have to go to jail?<br />

He says our existing healthcare will be <b>"more secure and affordable"</b>. How is this possible? As I've already explained, with all the new regulations and provisions, there is no way health insurance will be more affordable. And secure? Exactly how is higher costs and the threat of additional taxes, fines, and jail make us more secure?<br />

There is also the possibility that Obama's new health insurance Czar will offer health insurance companies corporate tax breaks and incentives for their compliance. or possibly even to urge them to allow Obama to completely take over their industry (which, I believe, is the primary reason for Obamacare). <br />

Nice for the insurance corporations, but who's going to foot the bill for these bribes? Do you suppose Obama will debit his personal bank account to pay them? No, I don't either.<br />
<br />
Then, he says insurance companies can no longer impose limits on coverage or deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Well, that sounds just wonderful, doesn't it? But, how will that make health insurance more affordable?<br />

Remember, <b>health insurance companies are profit making entities.</b><br />
<br />
The reason they haven't accepted pre-existing conditions up until now is because doing so would drive the costs of insurance premiums up to the point that only the super wealthy (and they can afford health care) can afford them. Does anyone think insurance companies will pay the benefits covering those conditions without increasing premiums to cover the loss?<br />

Whenever I needed good advice, I just picked up the phone and called him. I wish I could do that today. I am sure he is looking down, watching over me now, but I wish I could talk to him one more time.<br />

He raised 6 children, and he did a pretty good job. All but one have turned out well rounded, responsible adults. I know I have integrity and honesty because I learned from the example set by my dad. Not because of anything I've done.<br />

Let me tell you an amazing story about my Dad.<br />
<br />
Dad was a man of faith. Full time, he was an engineer at the Military Aircraft division of Boeing Corporation. Part time, he was a lay preacher and a deacon in the Baptist church. Before I was born, he was a sort of circuit riding preacher in Missouri. He even preached at least once in the church that the infamous Jesse James had once been a member. He actually met an elderly member of that church who had known Jesse James personally.<br />
<br />
After I was born, Dad was a Sunday School teacher, and would often fill in at various local churches for a vacationing or ill pastor. When I was a child, he was asked to be the pastor of a mission our church was planting. I couldn't have been more than 10 at the time, and I still recall a very moving illustration he used in one sermon.<br />
<br />
Dad had his faults, though. For one thing, he was a chain smoker. Of course, back in those days, smoking didn't carry the stigma with it that it does now. A lot of wonderful Christian people smoked in those days. It was common.<br />
<br />
His smoking eventually caught up with him, and he became very ill after he retired from Boeing. The malady at the time was called Chronic Respiratory Pulmonary Disease. It has a different name now. He suffered with this disease for several years. I don't remember exactly how long he suffered but it had to be over 5 years, if not more. It is a cruel and tortuous disease. He had great difficulty breathing, and his lungs were often so sore form trying to breathe he could barely stand the pain.<br />
<br />
As the disease progressed he became weaker and weaker. He became dependent upon oxygen and the disease spawned other diseases, such as Diabetes and emphysema, At times, it got so bad that he had to go to the hospital to receive treatment to keep him alive and breathing. He had a calender on the wall on which he marked his good days and bad days. The bad days began to outnumber the good.<br />
<br />
Finally, he could no longer remain home. He was admitted to the hospital and the doctors informed he and my Mother that he would probably not be coming home. A couple of days later we were told he would not last the night. He was on his deathbed.<br />
<br />
As I said, my father was a man of faith and on that day, weary of the painful struggle to live, he prayed a prayer, that went something like this:<br />
<br />
"Father, I can't go on like this. "If it is your will that I should die, take me quickly. If you would have me live, heal me." Tomorrow at 2:00Pm, I want to be either healed or dead. In Jesus' name and for His sake, Amen." <br />
<br />
Dad lived through the night, and at exactly 2:00 P.M. he drew the first clear breath he had drawn in many years.<br />
<br />
The doctors were astounded. They performed tests and checked and double checked the results. They could not find any trace of the disease that had ravaged my father for over 5 years.<br />
<br />
My father was healed. Completely.<br />
<br />
Shortly thereafter, My Mom and dad signed up with the Home mission board of the Kansas-Nebraska convention of Southern Baptists. The Mission board assigned them to serve as church planters in Claflin, a small town in Central Kansas. They answered the challenge, and soon they were having church services for a handful of people, with Dad serving as their pastor. No doubt, he shared his miracle story with the congregation, and I know they were blessed by his testimony.<br />
<br />
Once the Claflin church was firmly established, the Home Mission board brought them back home to Wichita. Shortly after that, Dad's disease came back, and this time progressed much more rapidly. One Sunday night after my parents had returned home from evening services, Dad told Mom he wasn't feeling well and was going to bed. He never got there. He stopped walking right there in the middle of his living room and collapsed. He was dead before he hit the floor.<br />
<br />
I firmly believe we all here on this earth to fulfill God's purpose for our lives. Dad believed that, too. Before Dad's remarkable and miraculous recovery, he often said he knew he was supposed to do something important for God, but didn't know what God had in mind for him. <br />
<br />
I know what his purpose was. God saved him and kept him healthy until he had fulfilled his purpose.<br />
<br />
Some would say that what happened to my Dad was mere coincidence, that there is a scientific explanation for his recovery. <br />

Imagine you are in line for a big promotion at work. For the last 6 years or more, you have done everything you are supposed to do to give yourself an advantage. You have worked hard specifically for the opportunity to gain this promotion. You come in early and stay late. You volunteer to do extra work. You take courses to improve your marketability. You go out of your way to make sure your boss knows you are the one responsible for bringing in more business. You grovel, plead, beg, cajole, befriend, and bribe to enhance your reputation to literally everyone who has any influence at all with your boss. You pick up the check at those business luncheons with your boss. You let him win at golf.<br />

Now, imagine, in spite of all your efforts, the boss brings in someone from outside the company with no experience, no work history, no sense of responsibility, and no brains, and gives that person the job you have been working so hard for so many years.<br />

How would you feel?<br />

Would that give you positive feelings for your boss? Would you feel betrayed? Would you continue to like and respect your boss? Wouldn't you, in fact, resent him? Would you be likely do anything to help your boss in the future?<br />

The Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting illegal immigrants who come to the country at a young age.
Obviously, this is a desperate attempt to win votes from immigrant voters.<br />
<br />
Nothing more.<br />

He thinks by relaxing immigration laws and allowing illegal aliens to remain in the country, the move will endear himself to Hispanics, and they will, in turn, vote for him in droves this November.<br />
<br />
<b>I don't think it will work</b>.<br />
<br />
The only Hispanics who can vote, so far, are those who have become legal citizens, and those citizens became U.S. citizens by doing what they were supposed to do, legally.<br />
<br />
Just as the employee who works tirelessly for years to get that promotion, many of them waited years to become legal American citizens. I don't think they will take too kindly to illegal aliens who have been given a free and effortless path to citizenship without having to go through the process legally.<br />
<br />
Yes, some will buy into Obama's bribe, but I think most legal immigrants will see through the sham, and, even if they are lifelong Democrats, may very well vote for <b>anybody but Obama</b>, if only out of pure resentment.<br />

I have no excuse, other than I haven't felt motivated. All I can write about is being written about by other, more articulate bloggers than I, anyway.<br />

Perhaps part of my lack of motivation lies in the distraction of trying to focus on the ongoing calamities that are currently effecting my life. Simply put, personal problems are occupying the majority of my thoughts and keeping me awake nights.<br />
<br />
As my two readers no doubt know, I recently moved from Virginia, back to my hometown of Wichita, Kansas.<br />
<br />
There are several reasons my wife and I (primarily, my wife) made the decision to make this move. I will touch on a few:<br />
<br />
1. Most of my family is in or near Wichita. My mother, soon to reach the age of 92, lives in Wichita. She is still relatively healthy, but, at 91, she is having some ambulatory problems. A couple of years ago, she suffered a mini-stroke which, fortunately, didn't have any lasting effects, but it bothered me that I wasn't close enough, geographically speaking, to be of any assistance should a more serious stroke occur. On top of that, my financial situation would have made it difficult, if not impossible, to be present for her funeral, if, God forbid, she suddenly passed away.
I have children and grandchildren in Wichita and Osawatomie in Kansas, and in Independence and Booneville in Missouri. I had never seen my two youngest grandchildren until we came back here.<br />
<br />
2. My wife is an only child who never had children of her own, and both of her parents had passed away in the last few years, leaving her with few family members left in Virginia. She wanted to be close to the kids and grandkids, I suppose, so she could spoil them.<br />
<br />
3. Because of lack of funds, we were unable to keep our house maintained. It was falling apart, and we simply didn't have the money to fix it up.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, since we moved here, things haven't gone as we anticipated and we are suffering more financial difficulties than we experienced in Virginia. My pay is substantially less and the cost of living here is higher. The combination of those two factors have placed us in a difficult situation.<br />
<br />
So, you will, I hope, understand that I have been pre-occupied with concerns other than keeping up with my blogging.<br />
<br />

When I'm out and about, shopping, walking the dog, or whatever, I've noticed the increasing number of obese kids.<br />
<br />
Now, I know there are multiple reasons for the prevalence of this phenomena,among them, the sedentary lifestyle brought on by the ease of access to video games and home computers. There also appears to be, in spite of Michelle Obama's anti-obesity, eat healthy campaign, more and more kids who don't eat healthy.<br />
<br />
Or do they?<br />

School cafeterias have gone to, what I believe, ridiculous lengths to force kids, at least while they are at school, to eat nothing but "healthy foods", but it seems to me the more they push healthy eating on the kids, the fatter they get. What do they do? Eat the healthy food at lunch, and then come home and pig out on Ho-Ho's?<br />
<br />
<br />
This observation is slightly off topic, but over the years, I've noticed most vegetarians look physically unhealthy, and yes, obese, too. I wonder if perhaps healthy eating is not so healthy as the so-called experts would have us believe. <br />
<br />
Then there's low self esteem. That certainly would help create a poor self image in a child.<br />
<br />
<b>Listen. I want to make it clear that I have no scientific studies or research to reference here. This is only my own observations and theories. I cannot prove anything. This is just me and my "out of Left field" perspective sort of thinking out loud, in text, so to speak.</b><br />

OK. So we have a sedentary lifestyle combined with unhealthy eating, and low self esteem. Could there be other things?<br />

I am beginning to think there is one more demon hiding in the closet.<br />

<b>Political Correctness</b>.<br />

Throughout the last couple of decades our society has been pushing sensitivity training on kids They've also been obsessing over kid's self esteem. Perhaps they have pushed this agenda overboard just a tad?<br />
<br />
Have we become a little <b>overmuch sensitive</b>? <br />
<br />
<br />
No doubt we need to do what we can to help a child feel good about himself, but shouldn't some of the responsibility fall to the child? What I mean is, we want the child to want to feel good about himself. Right? If there is an issue with his self esteem, shouldn't we encourage him to make some changes in his self image himself instead of merely accepting him as he is to spare his feelings?<br />
<br />
We, as a society, are so busy trying not to hurt his feelings, that we have forgotten to pay attention to how all our efforts are affecting him.<br />
<br />
<b>Stay with me here. I'm about to get radical</b>.<br />
<br />
To set this thought up, I'm going to ask my older readers to remember back to your school days. Do you remember the <b>"different"</b> kids? How were they treated by the other kids?<br />
<br />
That's right. They were picked on. And, dare I say this out loud? They were <b>bullied</b>.<br />
<br />
Look. I understand how being bullied makes a child feel. I was bullied as a child because I was short. I mean <b>really</b> short. When I was a Sophomore in high school, I was so short I had to sit on a phone book in Driver's training. I was the shortest kid in High School when I was a Junior, including the girls. I didn't have my growth spurt until between my 11th and 12th grade years.<br />
<br />
Did I have low self esteem? <b>You bethcha</b>!<br />
<br />
But, you know what? I learned to <b>deal with it</b> and I grew out of it.<br />
<br />
But being short is not something one can change. Obesity can be cured. And, while I'm on the subject. So can a host of other things that can negatively effect self image. Obesity, hygiene, and, homosexuality.<br />
<br />
When I was in school, fat kids, dirty kids, and kids that acted like a fairy were bullied unmercifully, and guess what? If they didn't want to be picked on, they lost weight, they took showers and washed their clothes, and the effeminate boys stopped acting and dressing like girls. And tomboys started acting and dressing like girls.<br />
<br />
If they didn't, they got bullied further. <br />
<br />
I knew a girl in elementary school that was bullied because she was dirty. Apparently, she learned how to solve that problem, because by high school she was very popular with the boys. Do you think, back in the sixties, she received sensitivity training? Do you think her bullies did?<br />
<br />
Not in the sixties.<br />
<br />
I think if we want our children to grow up with an improved self image and be more normal adults, we need to stop coddling them. We need to allow them to stand on their own two feet and fight their own personal demons. And we need to encourage them to buck up and stop being so sensitive.<br />
<br />
We had lot fewer fat kids in our school in those days. We had a lot less dirty kids. We had very few homosexual kids.<br />
<br />
As radical as it sounds, I think being bullied was an important factor in straightening up some of these low self esteem issues. It forced the bullied kids to change themselves for the better.<br />

<b>Perhaps we need to give the bullies some leeway. In a sort of backwards way, they have helped make America strong.</b><br />

Barack Obama's recent announcement of support for the oxymoronic "same sex marriage", in my mind, is a blunder, if he wants to be re-elected.<br />

The only time it has been legalized was when the Constitutional voting process has been bypassed by the courts or by politicians who mistakenly believe the majority of their constituents actually want same sex marriage to be legal.<br />

While some polls would seem to indicate the majority of Americans support same sex marriage, when the legislation comes up for a vote by the voters, it becomes clear they don't.
Obama may indeed garner some support from the homosexuals and their supporters, but they are still a minority in this country, and most of them probably voted for him in the last election, anyway. Many of the independents and more Conservative Democrats who voted for him in 2008 could well drop their support for him solely because of this issue.<br />
<br />
I don't believe his announced support of gay marriage is going to make a significant difference.<br />
<br />
Additionally, the recent Democratic primaries would seem to indicate Obama has lost a lot of support even among the Democrats. In West Virginia's Democratic primary, an imprisoned felon in Texas took 41% of the Democratic votes away from Obama, carrying 10 counties.<br />
<br />
All of this is good news for Republicans, but the election is still far off. There is still plenty of time for Obama's campaign operatives to dig up dirt on Romney, and if they can't find anything serious enough to sully him, they will make something up.<br />

Even if he doesn't have pre-marital relations with anyone, there will be plenty of soul-less women who will step up to claim the money, and I'm sure they will manufacture seemingly convincing evidence to support their claim.<br />
<br />
Not only that, but women will be coming out of the woodwork looking to <b>entrap</b> Tebow.<br />
<br />
He would be an incredibly intelligent and wise man indeed to avoid the traps that will undoubtedly be set for him.<br />
<br />
In the unlikely event he <b>succumbs</b> to the new found pressure put on him and actually sleeps with someone, <b>he loses</b>.<br />
<br />
If he doesn't, some gold digging woman/women will say he did, and he loses anyway.
Even if some woman says he did and it is proven that he <b>didn't</b>, the Tebow haters will insist he did <b>anyway</b>, and, his reputation will be ruined.<br />

I <b>never</b> post blog entries about religious subjects on this blog. I have another blog devoted to matters of faith called "God's Way/My Way", which one can find, should one be interested, on my blogroll. I am no expert in apologetics and found myself way out of my league on that subject, so, I rarely, if ever post anything there.<br />
<br />
Let me just say, on that subject, <b>"I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day"</b>. And that, as Mr Gump would say, is all I have to say about that.<br />
<br />
I believe one's faith is a personal thing. By that I mean, discussing what one believes in a public forum such as a blog can be a risky thing and tends to stir up far more anger and resentment than political discourse.<br />
<br />
There are so many widely diversified beliefs these days, that even true Christians often disagree with each other on some things. Thankfully, most of these disagreements are not things that divide us, but serve to strengthen our faith and compels us to go to the Word and divine for ourselves what God's truth is, which I believe is a good thing.<br />
<br />
Not that I believe we shouldn't share our faith. I do. But we must be careful that we don't share the <b>"wrong gospel".</b><br />
<br />
A man whose blog I used to frequent daily is a prime example. I used to like the man and he and I would often get into spirited discussions at both my place and his about both politics and religion. At first, it was fun! They started out as friendly disagreements but later, as he drifted farther and farther to the left, both politically and religiously, the discussions evolved into arguments which became more and more mean spirited until I could no longer bring myself to even visit his blog knowing that he would post some drivel that would absolutely infuriate me. I assume he felt the same about me, as he stopped visiting my blog altogether, too.<br />
<br />
For some strange reason, I woke up thinking about him and his blog this morning. I don't know why. He hasn't crossed my mind in well over a year.<br />
<br />
The last time I visited his blog, he was seriously contemplating enrolling in Seminary. In my opinion, his religious views are so far away from Biblical, I can't imagine a Seminary that would accept him as a student. There is, in my opinion, nothing Christian about his theology.<br />
<br />
And yet, He insists he is a Christian. I can't say he isn't, but it surely seems he may have lost his way.<br />
<br />
This is, I acknowledge, an oversimplification, but there is, I believe, but two things God demands from us as Christians:<br />
<br />
1. <b>Respect God</b>, and,<br />
<br />
2. <b>Share God with others.</b><br />
<br />
The thing that woke me from such a blissful peaceful sleep so abruptly this morning, and motivated me to type my opinion out on today's blog, is the fact that this man would often call Jesus, <b>"Jebus"</b>.<br />
<br />
Maybe I'm just being petty, but I find that <b>disrespectful</b> to Jesus Christ.<br />
<br />
Now, this man would most likely defend this by saying Jesus doesn't care what you call Him as long as you worship Him and carry out His commands.
Maybe he's right, but, I don't think the moniker either respects God or carries with it the message that we, as Christians, want to convey.<br />
<br />
I think, calling Jesus ,<b>"Jebus"</b> would cause some non-believers to think the guy who's trying to witness to them isn't too sincere.
Again, The man would defend that by saying what someone believes is his business and he doesn't have the right to impose his belief on others, so it really doesn't matter what the unbelievers think.<br />
<br />
But then, that violates the second of God's demands, doesn't it?<br />
<br />
How are we expected to share the Gospel if we don't bother to try to convince the unbeliever that he is following the wrong path? Telling an unbeliever "<b>What's right for you may not be right for me and what's right for me may not be what's right for you, so go ahead and do what you want. It's none of my business"</b>, is, in my opinion, just plain foolish.<br />
